I have a 2017 Dodge ram lonestsar with a 8.4 Uconnect. I was wondering if it is possible to to take a 2019 Ram Uconnect with Apple Carplay and install it in my 2017. NMy 2017 has GPS.

If that 2019 radio is from a Gen4 DS body truck, than yes it's practically plug and play. You'll also need to replace the USB media hub and a wiring adapter harness: https://www.kaodtech.com/product-page/uaq-uas-harness

Would a 2013-2018 Ram 1500 2500 3500 8.4 4C NAV UAQ Retrofit Kit with Apple CarPlay & Android Auto from Infotainment be a good choice? Here's the deal. I just want to replace my 2017 Uconnect unit with a 2018 Uconnect unit with Apple Carplay. I don't care about GPS. If I have to connect my phone by cable so be it. I would like all of the controls I currently have like steering controls, dual heating controls, air, etc.......Looks like Infotainment wants around $1,500 for a unit but not sure which one I need. Heard a lot about Linkswell also.........If someone would be willing to email me, I'd appreciate it. Thanks I love my 2017 Ram and not going to trade....
