I know some of you guys upgraded your winch hooks. Curious as to which brand you went with and why?

I like the Warn upgraded hook. Looks great.

Post pics if you got them!

Factor 55 Splicer thimble and synthetic rope for me. Prefer closed system rigging over hooks.

This looks great. What did this run you? Fairlead, rope and thimble? Stock winch?

did you need an adapter to run that fairlead?

thanks!

I went with the factor 55 Ultrahook. Pricey but offers the best of both worlds keeping the traditional hook but also can use it for closed system winching.5195c6c968a3de80c5a88c186d8a26d0.jpge8103d5edd56573d69ac70ce190a6421.jpg

I went with factor 55 also, works great and much cleaner look since you dont have to hook it to your front tow hook. Yea they are a bit pricey but worth it

I don’t recall the prices on everything, and the final cost will depend a lot on what rope you choose. Prices vary widely. The fairlead brackets are DIY and I’m not aware of anyone currently offering a commercial option. They aren’t hard to figure out and make if you have some basic fabrication skills and tools.

The swap to synthetic isn’t cheap, and I don’t recommend it for people who are mostly into it for the looks or who might only winch occasionally.

The hawse isn’t necessary if your rollers are in good shape with no nicks or rough spots. If your rollers are chewed up, you can replace them if Mopar has repair parts available, or do the hawse conversion.

Low sky, do you have any pics or a material list from when you made your hawse conversion setup?

Am I the only one who doesn't bother doing this? I just run it in until the cable has a little tension on it and call it good - no rattles, nothing.

Just made some aluminum adapter blocks at work this week. Test fitted them last night, just waiting on my fairlead to come in.

I stuck with the Warn Epic series for everything, but went with the larger hook than what currently comes on the 19. If love to do the 19 fairlead too, but it won’t fit in the opening in the AEV bumper. Have the fairlead, two shackles on the front bumper, and one I powder coated red on the rear bumper. Everything matches.

No worries. I understand. Can you snap a few pics of the parts when you are finished please?
