Ok so here’s what I currently have. I upgraded the factory 6 speaker 8.4 system to all aftermarket door/dash speakers, added a LOC with amp and Atrend box with 10” sub mounted under the rear passenger seat. 5 channel amp powers the doors, with one single channel dedicated to the sub. I’m not impressed by the single sub at all. I need more boom. So my thought is to keep the single 10” in its space, but add a loaded ported box with 2 12”s to sit on my back seat. I need to add another amp.
Question: Do I need another LOC for the second amp? Can I add a power/ground block for the second amp and utilize the power coming from the battery? I know amperage/wattage needs to be known. I’ll check that today. Any ideas regarding the LOC?

What 5 channel do you have and what impedance is it seeing from the sub?

<Editing this because I thought it said the sub was under the front seat.>

What model sub are you running and what are the box dimensions? The Atrend boxes are not known for their quality but are not crap either.

You will not need another LOC. Just use Y cables and you should be fine.

Unless you have zero gauge coming from the battery already? I would run a second power wire that is fused as well.

Why not ditch the sub under the seat and put a fox box in it's place and run two 12's? You'll still have your back seat that way and the fox box sounds really good

A single 12” JL 12W6V3 in a Net Audio box will give you some killer bass. If your 5 channel has a pass through connection it should be easy to do.

So more specifically, my current amp is a Kicker KX 800.5. It’s running 4- 6x9 Kicker coaxial door speakers, and a 10” SA DVC 2ohm sub. As I’m an idiot, I forgot to check my power wire gauge size. I have considered the Fox Acoustics dual 12” vented box. My only concern is that I like the idea of still having the use of 1 fold flat floor. The reason I’m thinking of adding an amp and a 2 12” box setup is because I have a crew cab, and RARELY anyone in the back. Now if I retain the single 10” under the seat, and I happen to have passengers in back, it’s no big deal to disconnect the speaker wires, throw the box in the bed, and still be able to utilize the single sub. To be clear, I don’t plan on using all 3 subs at once.
Also to note, I’ve recently been having issues with my amp going into protection mode. Because of this post I realized I wired my sub wrong, and I don’t think my amp is 1ohm stable. Again, I’m an idiot

Convert, for now.

If you use another Kicker amp, use speaker level, they don't need LOC's anyway, can take hi-level right in.
