What's the problem with it? I got my line off no problem off the hard line.

I'm talking about replacing the metal line. Which snakes in and out of everything. And doesn't bend very easily

Well I'm sure I'll have my fair share of fun with it tomorrow.. my truck tends to give me all the trouble its can. Like an old guy once told me... if its easy, you probably aren't doing it right.

I have the old line off and the new line on, but I cant get the new line to connect on the transmission end. I posted pics below of what I am talking about. The thread on the new line is identical to the old line, so what am I doing wrong? I'd love to get this done before dark (less than an hour). I've bent it every way possible to try to get the thread to line up to no avail. Any ideas?

Honestly I've got nothing. Just try making sure it's going straight onto the thread. If I remember correctly I had some trouble with it too

That the cooler end or the trans. end? I didn't have any issues threading my cooler line into that.....

Thats the trans end. It was a pain in the ass getting that old line out and new line in. I'm read to get this to thread correctly and call this project done.

I can't tell you how many hours I've spent crawling around on my back on the pavemen tugging on this line and connector, giving Dodge and Dorman dog cussings. At this point I really don't know what else to do.

When I changed my lines out they gave me new brass fittings for the tranny. This was years ago I will look in the morning for you.

I still havent gotten it to work yet. It seems like the thread size of the original line connector was 1/2. I'm thinking the one on the new line is about 7/16, because when I tried to put it on its stripping the brass fitting on the transmission instead of fitting over that like it should. I dont even think its reaching the thread :shakehead:

I got the line fixed with no leaks, but now its throwing a safety nuetral switch code. I am guessing it may have gotten transmission fluid on it, or in it. Does anyone have any tips for cleaning it? I really dont know much about it, other than it can be tough to get out and tricky to put back in.
