After periods of prolonged or heavy rain, I was experiencing water in the under seat storage compartment of my truck. Doing research online, I assumed it was a faulty seal around the third brake light, which in this instance was not the case.
The leak was coming from the rubber vents located against the back wall of the cab. They are visible if you look through the gap between the outside wall of the cab and the front of the bed. The only way to replace these vents is to access them through the cab by removing the back seat.
Apparently Dodge has a design flaw with the original vents and is aware of the problem. The dealer installed the redesigned vents, which so far has stopped the water flowing into the cab.
If you are experiencing this issue, I hope this post will save you some time and aggravation in pin pointing this problem.
