Nitrogen doesn't fluctuate like Oxygen does. try filling the tires with helium.. it makes the tire hum sound weird. :)
Nitrogen does fluctuate with temperature. It's a gas, you cannot change the laws of physics.
It will still require pressure adjustment between summer and winter.
Air is 78% nitrogen 21% oxygen.
The advantage of nitrogen is it doesn't combust, it doesn't support moisture, and the molecules are larger than oxygen do over time it doesn't leak out of a tire through the porous rubber. But it still expands and contracts with temperature.

I'm not chemist, and I don't play one on TV. I was told that it's more stable than O2, which is why people use it in tires.

I was in tires for 10+ years, Michelin was the first to push nitrogen full to the public. They supplied the nitrogen generator and tank to our shops at a huge discount.... Then the training sessions on it.
In racing, aircraft, space shuttle, and heavy equipment, it has huge advantage as it won't combust and feed a fire. But the whole stability part is so misunderstood.
It is a Nobel gas. It will expand and contract with heat and cold. That is just plain physics.... You learn this in like grade 5 science class.

In racing and other industries I mentioned above, the tires flex alot, this flex opens and closes the pores in the rubber, allowing molecules of oxygen to escape. Nitrogen being larger doesn't escape as easily. So the psi tends to remain more constant.

As for increase due to heat, yes psi will climb as the gas heats. Large front end loaders can actually heat tires up to the point that they litterly catch fire inside if filled with air, but a nitrogen filled tire provides no food for the fire, therefore making it a much better choice.

@Michael
@shadowhawk

So, we hit 70 degrees out here today, I did the remote start on the truck as usually when leaving work and the TPMS light was gone!!!
HELL YEAHHHHHHHH!!!!!
:banana-mario: :drink_nl:

I did a thing today that I'll post about soon enough. I work in short bursts of energy, mainly as the money flows in.

20201104_105007~2.jpgCabin air filter and new tires. Changed out the Nitto Mud Grappler 35x13.5x20 to stock 275/60/20 Nitto Terra Grappler G2s.
I now have 8 Rough Country .25 wheel spacers I don't need.

Glad someone said that nitrogen still has to be checked and filled. I used it for a few years and it didn't fluctuate near as much as air which was nice but did have to be adjusted.
Yeah exactly. You won't lose as much pressure over time, but the volume in the tire wire fluctuate slightly with temperature.
It's great if you are lazy and don't check this pressure in months. Thankfully with TPMS , this isn't as much of an issue now.
I seen so many run flat tire come in, other saying it just went flat over night or it just blew on the way to work... Yet we open the tire up and there are a couple handfuls of powder rubber that used to be the inner liner. Disintegrated from running for a long time at low pressure. All them when they last checked the tire pressure...usual answer was never. Or Best one.... Didn't you guys set it to the right pressure when you installed them on my car?....4 years ago..... Lol

I'll say.....that rig is spotless. I take it you live somewhere where they don't salt & brine the crap out of the roads during winter?
