Just finished installing a set of marine boat horns. Have been looking into train/truck horns for some time, but after a visit to West Marine, I decided to go with the boat horns and try them out.

From what I've been able to determine, they are less prone to corrosion, lighter, and take up less space. Granted they are electric, but that's what saves space and weight by having no direct need for a compressor or air tank.

Installed them behind the front grill not far from the factory ones, but will be activated by a separate "horn" switch discretely placed.

Ran out of day light so pics will follow tomorrow :waytogo:

Here's a few pics from the install. Unless your really looking for it, the horns go unnoticed.

Not sure I'll keep them as they are not as loud as I had hoped. They are rated at 106db, but in all honesty the oem horn sounds just as loud.

I'll play around with it for a while, but sense I'll end up with the "trumpet" style eventually. I want the "jump out of my seat" reaction :waytogo:

Over the course of the last week ive changed all brake pad and rotors out with powerstop z36 drilled and slotted rotors. I had one bad caliper that a dry rotted seal around piston and the other piston ceased up on one of the dual piston front calipers. My first brake job with a little help from a friend. I will try to get some pics today. We also changed my ac compressor out which wasnt to awful bad, and the dessicant bag mounted to the condenser. Easy to change but a complete PITA to get the bag back in. Its similiar to a sock full of sand and you have to squeeze it into a round tube while keeping the amount of sand even as you work it in along with gravity pulling the dessicant (sand like material) down. I was tempted to flip the truck on its side or on top after struggling but cooler heads prevailed lol. Oh i also gave it an oil change with penzoil platinum and new filter.

Gave her a quick ceramic bath. Not a big fan of the Adams ceramic wash. I was much more pleased with the Chemical guys Ceramic wash.

post up some pics of the tips when you can!

Finally remembered to snap some pictures before stuffing it in the garage.

Also might be getting some factory black projectors from a local(ish) guy tomorrow. Now I just need sport (All red) LED tail lights and I'll be at an acceptable amount of chrome (in my opinion).20210616_102330.jpg20210616_102310.jpg

One of the few good things about California! (In my opinion) I want to get out there some day to see the sights in person. Definitely on the bucket list.

Was able to meet with the local guy to buy some black OEM projectors this morning. Even had enough time to slap them in before work and remove the AGS. Both are OEM Ram light, passenger side was basically new, driver side was original and has some scratches and fading that I've got to polish out. But overall I'm stoked I found these instead of buying some cheap aftermarket ones. I'll be posting my chrome ones for sale soon as I get time to clean them up and make an ad.

Happy Fathers Day to all the dads out there!20210620_100931.jpg20210620_100926.jpg20210620_104243.jpg20210620_104249.jpg

Front-end rebuild on my '12 Big Horn. Bought the truck in June 2016 with 42k on it and she now has 140k and still had the stock suspension and chassis parts. Needless to say, the ride had become...less than ideal.

I put in Bilstein 5100s at 2.8", Rough Country UCAs, Detroit Axle LCAs, tie rods and ends, sway bar links, and upper strut mounts. In the rear, just new 5100s for now. Had to wait a few days for the alignment but, once it was done, I am much happier with the ride. I ended up retaining the stock coil springs but I think I'm going to do the hubs/bearings as well as the CV axles soon so I may reconsider that decision. We'll see. I welcome thoughts on stock springs vs upgrades for someone who mostly does on-road driving/hauling.

All-in-all, it was an easy project with the exception of the typical PITA shock nuts that hold the upper mount on. The stance of the truck - along with the handling - is so much better, now!

Rear height - 39.5"
Front height - 39"
That's a tad closer than I would have liked only because I occasionally haul a trailer but I'm good with it. Just need some new wheels and sneakers, now!

Road trip. 300 miles round trip. I’ll take it at it’s age. 65-70 mph. I have a feeling this will the the truck that trumps my 04.5 F150 5.4 that went 194k miles when I sold her running perfect.

Well I really like the way @Tray Burge came up with the idea to add vintage Mopar stuff to his ram. I am big into the old looks etc. They came 3 days early! Its probably not everyones style, but I dig it.
