Spent a few hours yesterday compounding the paint in prep for a level and wheels. Today I installed the maxtrac 2.5” with fox shocks. After a drive around the block I gained 3 and 1/8” give or take on each side, so I expect it to settle further before I take it to get aligned

I'm going to be getting that exact same kit soon. How you like it so far?

I decided to give the Vararam & 3G engine covers multiple fresh coats of Duplicolor Hemi Orange engine enamel and then went over them real good with the protective, clear, gloss bc3fc7f4d615bad47b67d9fcdfa56dfa.jpg
engine enamel. They had some scratches & dings on them from the install and were getting pretty cruddy under the hood. The front of the air cleaner lid had black marks all over it from the hood mat rubbing against it. I’m pretty happy with how they turned out. I’ll be sure to wrap them up real good when I reinstall them. The photos don’t do the covers much justice, they’re just as glossy as the Vararam.

Slightly off subject, but I have to give a shout out to Outerwears for the quality of the pre-filter they make for the Vararam... the filter element still looks new behind there, very impressed. (It’s been installed for about a year now) I check it every once in a while to clean any debris out and it’s holding up very well. 41780f62462d05c7ff64ae17f50e273e.jpg

Took my steps off and don’t miss them one bit. My wife is actually more careful now. Even with level kit.

60% of the time it works every time....
I like the look without them. It's sporty. But I've got mud tires, a headache rack, toolbox, recovery stuff, and soon I'll be sitting on some bullet hole 17x9s with dune graps. My truck isn't sporty. And I've come to appreciate the function. The question now is whether or not I will like wheel to wheel or cab length more.

Ok then. I'm not looking to take a gamble on a possible after market headache, so I'm thinking just the one replacement. This should do:

Get this replacement and then order luxe auto tint film to smoke your tail lights. Did mine on my rebel and it looks great. Pretty easy to do and work with. Just watch a install video or two beforehand and it gives ya a good idea of what to do.

it rides great! Just a tad firmer than stock, but I’ve had no issues. Roads are bumpy here in SoCal and it hasn’t been a problem. To be fair I’ve only driven twice since installing, once around the block and once to work. I’m hoping it settles more, I was surprised by the 3+ inch gain. I don’t know if it’s because it’s on a regular cab or because it needs time to settle. I wholeheartedly recommend the kit though!
