What about fluid loss during the filter change? Did you get engine drain down the hoses?

That was actually very minimal this time- I only had to add about a quart and a half back in. I think that’s because with my mount, the connection on the hoses for the remote adapter are higher than connections coming out of the filter adapter end

Was that in addition to filter soak? Cause that could be filling both filters back up also.

Yes. I installed both filters dry. Started the truck for about 20 seconds, shut it off and let it settle then checked my dip stick and added accordingly

I may have gotten that leak resolved. After @danielmid commented on my build that he has a similar leak from his Royal purple 30-8a filters I went and picked up a different brand filter. Stuck some fram XG8a filters on and drove about 15 miles on the interstate and so far it looks like there is no more leak!

I've never had any issues with the 30-8A RP filters on my Transdapt kit,but my stock of 30-8A's is from about 4 years ago,so the new ones might have issues.Glad a new set of filters fixed you up,and i'm going to keep your issues in mind the next time i need more filters. Now I’m trying to figure out if I’m leaking from the fittings on the adapter end or not. I’m using summit racing -10an to 1/2npt fittings and can’t tell if it’s a leak or residual oil.

Used a magnet to make sure nothing metallic went into block. There is a ledge just inside that will catch anything just in case. Started out using wire brush while plug was in and wiping it down a lot as well before removing plug.

Says up to 2007 Cummins 6.7, but fit my 2016 6.7 just fine.

Drain plug fitting only needs to be tapped in and once in its not going anywhere. Cap is included to tap it in as well as close it back up till you're ready to use it. This video helps show how to put in.

Am fabricating now a mount with drain connection to be hooked up to this now installed fitting. Centrifuge will sit on top. Will post more as I go.

This is my old time trick to check and see if fittings are leaking.Clean up the fittings with some brakeclean so there's no residual oil on them,then take an old wore out white sock,and tie one around each fitting you think might be leaking,the oil will stain the sock on the leaking fitting,making it easier to find the fitting that might be leaking.It's the cheapest way i've ever found to determine which fitting might be leaking on you,does it work every time no,but it usually works 9 times out of 10,lol

Mine is being putup till Spring. Hate rust and to NOT have patience to fix it correctly. At 70 this is probably my last truck. Just wife and I no kids at home, so bought it to use as a "truck". Had my Dakota for 20 years. As with all my vehicles I do not buy to resell. I get them to use.

Series of events with my wife's low tire light in her Highlander reminds me to check Ram spare tire since I know the steel rim on it wasn't in the best of shape and had bought a rim to match the truck that had just showed up recently. Off to the tire shop for swapping spare tire rims and order my wife's Highlander a replacement as well. Didn't take too long and am back on safe path with both again, but doesn't help the wallet!

Actually aired up my spare today, it felt a bit squishy when I punched it. I was already all under my truck today anyways.

70K mile oil change. The oil wrench from amazon is Fan-Fn-Tastic. Along with the filter plug not a problem. Even found the grease fitting on the front driveshaft. Heck locating it took longer then that oil drain haha.
