What does an 85mm TB do to improve responsiveness?

I have done research on this and the consistent comment is that it improves responsiveness. Without getting too technical, can someone explain exactly what an aftermarket TB does to accomplish this? I don't like to buy mods if I can't understand how they work. Thanks

Not all throttle bodies are alike. Our ported throttle bodies have a tapered design that go from 85mm down to 80mm at the blade. This tapered port is going to increase airspeed as it enters the motor which is where the increase in throttle response comes from. A straight bore 85mm without a taper is actually going to slow down airspeed and most likely hurt your low end tq and throttle response.

Matt's ported TB's are showing very good #'s. I can speak for my Fastman that has a few years on it and it helped the slight lag in the fly by wire feel to me. If my current TB would fit the other truck I would have a Moe's on mine to give back to back info.
