I bought mine because of the ride, interior quality and comfort, and the price.

If I’m honest, the ram is my least favorite in the looks dept of the big 3. I’ve had 9 f150s, and was on my way to the dealership to buy #10 when I stopped at the local dodge dealer to check out the rams. I had never driven one and had only ridden in one once. Probably 1000’ into the test drive I made up my mind to buy it.
I’m just simply curious but which body style Ram are you referring to that’s the most lacking in the looks department?

I’m still not very big on the new 19’ design Ram, as my fav is the 4th generation. Don’t get me wrong, I like all of them, even the 2nd generation which took a while of growing on me before I liked it but the new 19 I’m afraid to say is one that probably won’t. I just don’t care for it. All the other generations seemed to be more original from the other brands but to me, the new one looks too much like a new Ranger or Tundra in my opinion. The seemed to have lost their originality that set them apart from the competition.

I bought my 18 for the long haul, goal of 10 years or more, which is why I paid the money for the lifetime warranty because hopefully the body style will change to something better. That, and I just really like the 4th gen but I’m my opinion, Chevy or GM hasn’t made a beautiful truck in I dunno how long. Ford... well, all the way up to the 2001 super duty body style, they haven’t made any thing good looking after those and in my opinion, those brand new super duty’s are just absolutely hideous. That’s like the ugliest truck design I’ve ever seen. Up until the 08 design is when the designers must’ve really started to abuse the crack pipe...lol.

Same with the one-fitty’s. They looked decent up until as far back as this modified new design first came out but they’re just to boxy and just don’t look right.

But I guess opinions vary...lol.

I’m not sold on the idea of MDS for long term reliability, but I typically don’t keep vehicles more than a few years anyway. The longest I’ve owned one truck was 3 years, and i put 80k miles on it in that time.

I don’t care for the mds either but at least it works much better on my 4th gen than it did on my 3rd gen.

Still don’t care for it tho. Really wish they’d give us the consumer the decision to run it or not.

I have a 2017. That’s the body I’m referring to. I actually like the 2019 much better. The front end just looks more like a truck. Less rounded and more blocky. I guess that’s why I like the Sierra. Growing up, my dad had an 86 F150 he bought new in 86 (when someone totaled his parked 70something Chevy). I just like the look of a boxy looking truck.

I liked the blocky-looking trucks of way back when but not these. It’s almost like they just don’t fit the modern era, I dunno. I guess the Chevy’s and the GMC’s somewhat pull off the boxy modern look but I’m sorry, those Ford SD’s just ain’t doin it...lol. They’re just both uglier’n sin to me. The Mopar bug is deep within me, though.

But you know, to each is own...lol.

I made the switch last year because the Ford 5.4 3 valve engine is a complete pile. 104k miles and there go the phasers. Got into my 1500 with all the options I wanted and it had 15k miles on it. Best truck I've had so far.

I was raised mopar or no car by my mom in a 1970 cuda 440 magnum that she eventually had to sell to make ends meet. What I would give for that car. When I was a teen I bought my first real truck, 1992 power ram 250 for 1,200 bucks. Had 200k miles and mud for coolant lol that truck was nothing short of amazing to me. Sold it to my best friends dad who agreed to only sell it back to me if he ever decides to sell it. Turned around and got my 04 qclb hemi ram 1500 and again was nothing short of amazing to me, traded that in in 08 for my current 07 hemi 1500 and once again has been nothing short of amazing to me.
Bottom line I will always own a truck and it will always be a RAM

I've always like the looks of the RAM (and Dodge before that) over the other trucks. Between the looks, and the price, it was a simple decision for me. Plus, I'm very much a Mopar guy.

What does R.A.M. Mean to you?
Why did you buy your current RAM?

I Love my 18 Ram 2500HD 4x4 CC
Blue Streak Pearl off-road

I wanted a truck again. Hated borrowing my father's Tacoma anytime I need to get something that couldn't fit in the back seat. Own a 2008 Charger police package with the Hemi and love how it runs. It looks awesome, as an awesome interior, features, does what I want it to do, looks tough, runs great.

To be honest I picked the Ram because it happened to be what was wrapped around the Cummins diesel engine. As far as the truck itself I'm pretty happy with it though. I didn't even look at chevy or ford because I was afraid I might be swayed.

I wanted a truck that was built tough from the ground up, and is reliable since I go off road and I've run into situations my previous trucks could not handle unless they were majorly modified...by me. The 2018 Power Wagon fit the bill, that and I don't commute 70 miles round trip to work anymore! Made it more feasible cost wise. Prior to this I had a 2014 Ford F150 SXT 4x4...I was considering a Raptor...but the Aluminum body has turned me away from any new Ford truck. Loving it so far!

I live in Canada but grew up in Middle East (Qatar) the land of Toyota Land Cruiser. Well no land cruisers in Canada and started looking for a 4 wheel drive. The minute I saw 2013 Ram 1500 limited, my heart pumped and that was it what I wanted. Waited 5 years and finally bought a 2017 RAM 1500 Laramie Limited. The muscle look, durability, flexibility and of course HEMI.

The dealer tried to sell me a used 2017 Ford Lariat. I told them to shove it and I wanted my 2018 Ram with the 5.7. I use the work for a automotive company that makes the header, the roof bow and the rocker panels for the F150(Military Grade Aluminum) it’s just heat treated aluminum lol. Let’s just say I worked there and I see who makes the parts and wouldn’t buy one for my own safety [emoji23]

My father always owned Dodge trucks from as far as I can remember when I was growing up. They lasted him forever and having a dependable truck is what I wanted

My 2017 Ram 1500 express 4x4, QC, pentastar bought used earlier this year, was purely an impulse buy based on price. I happened to be shopping used trucks for a family member and stumbled upon my truck for $22600+TTL with 12K miles on it. Couldn't pass it up. I never thought I'd be back in a pickup truck again and absolutely love it. I couldn't touch a basically new GM, Ford, etc pickup for that price. Not by a long shot.
This is a lot like my story. We took the wife's Cherokee in to replace a strut under warranty and while we were there I saw my truck. Used 2018 with 2200 miles. $26,000 OTD. I didn't even know I wanted a new truck.

Wow, original owner didn’t even keep it long enough for it to get its first oil change. That’s sad. Oh well, good for you, anyways.

Yup, I'm on my 2nd. Ram, and 3rd. Mopar product. All 3 have been 100% trouble free, incredibly reliable. My first Mopar was a Dodge Stratus. Bar none THE most reliable vehicle I have ever owned.
My first Ram was a 2005 (which I bought used, and still zero reliability issues. And of course with 5.7), and my current Ram, a 2015, I bought brand new, again with the 5.7. (LOL, is there any other motor to get).
Perfect reliability issues thus far.
Love my Hemi Ram!!!

At least if you buy a new Ram you only have to change the year in your stats.

And i thought i got a deal! With $14500 off MSRP , way to haggle McBroom!

A portion of the discount was 5K from USAA insurance. They offered me $5K to buy a new Ram and trade my Camaro ZL1 in.
