View attachment 188570 Hey all. It’s been a long time since I’ve posted or even been on the site. I bought a 2019 1500 Rebel back in April. As I’m going through the settings, I’m realizing there are two key features missing that I guess I just assumed were standard being that it’s the Rebel.
The side mirrors are not heated.
It does not have ANY air bag features.
It’s on me for not double checking as to what features the truck had before driving away; but the whole reason I chose the Rebel over a 2500 diesel was because the ride height and getting into drivers seat was the easiest on my body (bad car accident years ago).
The sales guy kept talking on and on about the towing package with the airbag suspension. I couldn’t find that feature. The sales guy told me that some Rebels have auto air bags but they don’t engage until weight is added to the bed or a trailer is hooked up. I believed him.
*clarification* there is an airbag system option that does have an “auto” ride adjustment; but my truck doesn’t have any options for airbags.
I’ve spent months researching these features, but my truck doesn’t have airbags, not does it have heated mirrors. Why would heated mirrors even be an option? If you need to defrost the front and back windows, wouldn’t it make sense that the side mirrors would need heat too?
Does anyone know if I could upgrade the mirrors to heated ones without voiding any warranties? The airbags isn’t an real issue. I pulled just over 9k from California to Idaho and it was one of the smoothest rides I’ve ever had the pleasure of driving. The tow package is amazing...minus airbags.
Here’s the truck/trailer when I pulled to Idaho. Roughly 9k. There’s a slight squat on the back, but I honestly didn’t notice any difference. As far as power and torque...there isn’t any hesitation from the truck. When I need the power to pass, merge, or just to keep up with the flow, it’s there.
