When I run my Bluetooth and (Apple) Carplay, I have the Option to do with Bluetooth.

Haven't seen that yet. Any specific instructions?

UNDER SEAT REAR: U can get a Husky bin now for the MY 19 for underseat storage on the MY 19 CC trucks....

The bin is not a big deal - I could make my own. It's more the fold-flat floor that allows you to have two levels. Even after less than two weeks I can't believe how many times I've been frustrated by dealing with the hardware in the way trying to slide stuff in and out.

I don’t see how the leather seats can be harder than the cloth ones when the should use the same padding underneath.

But with any leather, you gotta keep it clean and keep it conditioned. My 18 Limited’s leather is showing a little wear on the outside edge on the driver seat but for being almost two years old, they’re holding up quite well. Course, I have a pretty good regimen of wiping them down, too.

Another thing is it helps having running boards on your truck as well. I’ve had to train myself to raise up step out rather than pivot myself outwards while still seated. That’s what wears ‘em out quicker.

I religiously cleaned and conditioned the leather but it was a Southfork Edition so the creamy light leather showed wear worse than any bald seat possibly could. As for the comfort, there is no way leather will be softer or stretch as much as fabric thus there is less give. The less give makes it feel more rigid thus making Ram leather seats feel harder. I had clients ride in my Longhorn and those same clients state the cloth seats in the Lone Star/Big Horn are softer and more comfortable. My butt and back have yet to disagree with them.

And yes, my 2018 Longhorn had the factory side steps but the leather still work on the outboard side of the seats and looked like hell on the cream colored leather.

Hmm, maybe there’s a difference between the leather in that south fork edition and the Limited. Mine is solid black leather so maybe it holds up better, I dunno.

But I guess leather’s not for everybody. I dunno, maybe they just ain’t been upfront and honest but no one that’s ridden in my truck has complained about my seats being too hard. The first time last night, my girlfriend had to ride in the back and she said my back seats were uncomfortable but to her, it was just the angle and that the seat bottom was too short so if the front seats or those was too hard, I don’t think she’d hesitate to tell me. Lol.

IIRC, and not qoute me: If I delete than re-install phone under Appleplay, on phone comes up with Option to Run just USB< or use WI FI or Bluetoooth. Now remember I's a Boird and dementia sets in every day, LOL. Cannot remember if U can change in Uconnect. But I just have a 4C radio, no Nav, No 911, No Guardian. All extra stuff through Carplay on Iphone...

Sounds like you have a 4 infotainment system, not a 4C. According to my (2020) manual, 4C is required for 911, Guardian, UConnect access. Yeah, and I have a 4. The only other options we 4C Nav and 12".

I may have wasted the $800 for the 4C Nav if I had realized, but probably not. Really bugs me...

OK, well my bad, chit, LOL. Went to Winder sticker/Build: Reads ///Uconnect® 4 with 8.4–Inch Display/// Thought was 4C, my bad,,,Well I do not need the Nav, 12" or 911. CarApplePlay with Google Maps or Run WAZE works, lol......

Good thing is, we do not get all the U*CONNECT updates other PPL get... OH SHUCKS< can't go on internet and start truck/unlock.,. OH well, grab the Fob and hit remote, hee hee....

ADDED: Not sure which trim or options you have installed, but I do know on mine I have the option to run thru Bluetooth, I just choose not to. rather plug in cord and run that way and keep phone charged, but I's just a BOIRD......

New to the forum, just browsing and came across this thread. I don't have a lot to complain about so far other than a couple things:

I don't care for the auto dimming drivers side mirror. I have to back down my driveway and when its dark, I have a tough time seeing out of it, especially when its raining.

The rear park sensor at times will slam on the brakes when im backing out of driveways onto streets. Its unexpected and honestly annoying

Wasn't sure if I would like the start/stop feature, but I am getting used to it.

First night when I got home (clear and calm) I could not back into my garage. Not even within 20' of it! Shut that off and never turned it on since. Seems like a great option IF it works...

Then again, I park in a very tight space, and often exceed the "red" zone, so would probably have turned it off anyways...

Wife had a '19 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited as a rental that had this. She was picking me up from the hay field one night and while backing into some tall grass to turn around the car suddenly slammed to a stop. Scared the **** out of her, she thought she had backed into something.

I guess that’s a new feature on those with that mirror. My 4th gen 18 only dims the mirrors when there’s a bright light behind you. You sure it’s sposed to just dum outta the blue?

That start/stop **** would drive me to drinkin’...

For whatever reason it dims out at night. Is it tied into the rear view mirrors dimming feature? I can turn that off in the uconnect settings.

It should be. I’m not sure about the new trucks but the sensor that runs all that dimming should be that dark spot on your rear view. It’s supposed to activate when bright lights come up behind you.

C857BE1F-47B3-43F3-B360-D0F63FF3A33B.jpeg Hey all. It’s been a long time since I’ve posted or even been on the site. I bought a 2019 1500 Rebel back in April. As I’m going through the settings, I’m realizing there are two key features missing that I guess I just assumed were standard being that it’s the Rebel.

The side mirrors are not heated.

It does not have ANY air bag features.

It’s on me for not double checking as to what features the truck had before driving away; but the whole reason I chose the Rebel over a 2500 diesel was because the ride height and getting into drivers seat was the easiest on my body (bad car accident years ago).

The sales guy kept talking on and on about the towing package with the airbag suspension. I couldn’t find that feature. The sales guy told me that some Rebels have auto air bags but they don’t engage until weight is added to the bed or a trailer is hooked up. I believed him.

*clarification* there is an airbag system option that does have an “auto” ride adjustment; but my truck doesn’t have any options for airbags.

I’ve spent months researching these features, but my truck doesn’t have airbags, not does it have heated mirrors. Why would heated mirrors even be an option? If you need to defrost the front and back windows, wouldn’t it make sense that the side mirrors would need heat too?

Does anyone know if I could upgrade the mirrors to heated ones without voiding any warranties? The airbags isn’t an real issue. I pulled just over 9k from California to Idaho and it was one of the smoothest rides I’ve ever had the pleasure of driving. The tow package is amazing...minus airbags.

Here’s the truck/trailer when I pulled to Idaho. Roughly 9k. There’s a slight squat on the back, but I honestly didn’t notice any difference. As far as power and torque...there isn’t any hesitation from the truck. When I need the power to pass, merge, or just to keep up with the flow, it’s there.

I’m only familiar with a few things on the Rebel because I never was interested in one but, the side-views don’t have the little heat-wave symbols on the lower-inside corners? That’s odd. But I’m curious... I’m not sure if it matters on newer trucks, or if it even mattered on my 2018 Limited but do you have the heat strips in your back glass? Furthermore speaking, I don’t know why it would matter but I would almost think that if you didn’t, you wouldn’t have heated mirrors because on today’s trucks since it’s all on the same circuit, that might be why. I mean honestly, I don’t why you couldn’t have heated mirrors if you didn’t have a defrosting back window.

Onto your air ride-

What do you mean when you say you have no features? If memory serves me correctly, your air ride should be almost identical to mine, and every other late model non-Rebel. You won’t have two off-road modes like I do because your normal ride height is basically my off-road 1 setting. I think there might be a little difference in how your highway mode works.

But irregardless what it’s on, the four corner air ride is always self-leveling; or well, it should be. But what were you hauling in that trailer? It musta been pretty heavy because for your back end to squat like that, the auto-leveling does have a limit to how much it’ll level to when you’re loaded heavy.

But as far as those features, yo should have the transport mode, Jack mode, wheel alignment mode and easy entry/exit mode.

Been reading a few other forums the last few weeks after ordering my 2020. From what I’ve seen there’s a lot of people pretty disappointed that their tow mirrors don’t have heat. Pretty asinine move by FCA if you ask me. Looking at the 2019 with the Level 2 package I built and took to the dealer it showed power fold mirrors, another feature they apparently removed from the 2020 Level 2. I didn’t realize this until I built a 2020 online this past weekend. So now I don’t know what my truck is going to come with.

Third, I didn’t know that the UConnect Access from your phone was only available with the NAV 8.4. Not a dealbreaker but was looking forward to be able to start my truck when out of remote range.

Well I guess thanks for pointing that out because I didn’t notice that the last guy I quoted had the tow mirrors.

Come to think of it, I’m not even so sure the tow mirrors o had on my 2008 halfton were heated....

Nice looking rebel! I would leave a reallll nice review everywhere I could about that salesman of yours, sounds like he was saying (BS'ing) anything to make a sale. Surprising on the lack of heated mirrors, as corneileous asked, do you have the little heat symbol in the mirror?

Sounds more like he was mislead and the truck really has no air ride at all.

Well I guess thanks for pointing that out because I didn’t notice that the last guy I quoted had the tow mirrors.

My 2017 has tow mirrors that are heated (other than the small outer mirror), just have to turn on the rear defrost to activate them. If ram really took that away on the new ones, that's a really stupid move on their part.
