I wash my truck 2 to 3 times a week inside and out. Condensation is not old grime, its caused because the ac is blowing through the defog vents at all times. Even when set on face. Took my 19 to two different dealers here in Florida and they both said that's normal operation. We even looked at 2020 Rams and other 19s new on the lot that were also blowing ac through the defog vents when set to face. Those pics I posted is condensation smeared and the other is condensation not smeared. The ac was on face all morning. I took those pics on my to the dealership. Bought my 19 brand new in June of 19. Still have it today with 20k miles.

Another note to mention. I lost power steering 20191002_145733.jpg over a dozen times in three days at 8k miles. Dealer fixed a loose wire connector. Said it was a factory issue as the wire harness for the power steering was incorrectly routed. Since the repair no issue. Only time it truely was dangerous was when turning and it went to manual steering. I am 40 years old and lift weights on a regular basis and took me all my muscle to keep my truck in my lane. I would only imagine that a senior with health issue would be more likely to lose control and crash.

As far as the 23 gallon gas tank. Its not advertised as such. Previous window stickers on Ram list the 26 gallon standard tank. On the all new Ram there is no mention of the 23 gallon tank size on the window sticker. I only found out after the purchase and after filing up a couple of times something was way off. I then opened the owners manual to discover the tank size of 23 gallons. I will take responsibility for the oversight. But Ram is clearly hiding the new tank size. That's my beef with the new tank.

As far as the 5 seater, I was under the impression that I would be able to convert to a six seater at a later date. The load flat floor vs the hump in the floor makes that modification 10x more difficult. It's no longer buying a seat and seat belts. It would require a custom seat bracket to correctly bolt the seat down. Also, and I am not 100% but I imagine there are no open bolt holse for the seat belts on the load flat floor models. So custom seat belt mounting to the floor as well. Also, my oversight as well. I take responsibility for not doing my research on that possibility.

My comment about the tradesman model is just my opinion about where Ram is heading with their truck models. I believe in the wrong direction. I believe Ram no longer has the worker in mind when building the all new Ram no matter the model. No sure what their new target market is but it doesn't include a worker like myself. I spend six days a week in my truck working outside. I tow everyday. I sweat hard and expect my truck to keep me cool and get me home at the end of the day. I sweat a lot more with my new Ram then I have in the past and at the end of day before I get home I am out of fuel. Many times I am filing up in unfamiliar territory with a trailer. Makes for a unfun experience and hence me writing about it online.
When I get a few moments I will post some pics of my 15 and 17 Ram that I was head over heals for. The good old days :)20191013_142032.jpg 20191202_153208.jpg

Although I have more negatives than positive s. I do like my truck when I am not towing. Gas mileage is great and comfort on long trips is exceptional. The outside styling is "out of the park" awesome. Lots of compliments from people at gas stations or where ever I go.

That IS disappointing. But I recall the days of a 16 gallon tank and being lucky to break 10 MPG...

I ordered my truck and opted for the 33 gallon tank. It was ridiculously expensive ($445) compared to the 32 gallon option I got in my 2015 ($75), but still glad I got the extra 10 gallons - it was only an extra 6 on the '15.

OK, here's another little one.

If your iPhone is plugged in and CarPlay is active (which mine is set up to automatically connect), and you shut the truck off (leaving the phone connected), when you come back and start the truck CarPlay does not connect. You have to unplug and re-plug-in for it to connect.

My 2020 1500 Limited does not do this. The CarPlay reconnects and music resumes.

.

There is something wrong with the new Ram ventilation/heating/cooling and blend door system. My 2020 will sometimes blow at my feet when set in the face or defrost setting. Then sometimes it doesn't. I had similar issues on my 2019 2500, especially regarding the AC not cooling properly. I accounted for that by the blend doors not blocking off the engine heat and the AC always trying to mix with outside warm air.
This problem with my 2020 brought me to my dealer to check other trucks. Some 1500's blew at your feet and some did not when in the face vent or defrost position. I'm not able to check any AC functions yet because I purchased the truck in December and it's still cold where I live.
I also checked the new F-150s that are on the same lot as Rams, well their ventilation system works perfectly.

Actually getting the 33-gal tank adds $2,140 to MSRP ($445 plus $1695) as you need to get also need to add the Level 1 Equipment Group or the Level 2 Equipment Group to get the larger gas tank on the Laramie. With the new regs the aftermarket companies can only provide larger replacement tanks for diesel trucks so the factory upgrade is the only option and Ram takes advantage of this with its bundling of the tank. The larger tank if bundled at all should be attached to a tow package.

Similar to adding the $995 multifunction tailgate where you also have to have the $1695 Level 1 Equipment Group and the $845 Bed Utility Group for a total increase of $3,535 to the MSRP for the truck. I decided against the multifunction tailgate at that price.

I didn't notice that, as I already had selected the Level 1 group.

I already wanted the L1E and BUG, but when I ordered mine you also had to have the E-Torque motor to get the multifunction tailgate... That made it a total non-starter for me.

It seems so random what options can be ordered. When I was looking for mine, I found a truck in StL that had the 8.4 screen and the surround view option on a dealer lot. But I could not create this combination through the website build your own feature.

Just bout a 2019 ram classic black out edition sport. I like the truck looks sharp, clean body lines lots of space. I absolutely hate how dull the factory head lights are. For the hight of the truck they sure don’t cover much of the hwy at night.

I see you’re new here and welcome aboard but instead of hating on those cheesy stock bulbs, yank those junkers out, throw em in the trash and put you some good ones in there. Problem solved.

I don't like the dial gearshift. No, actually, I hate the dial gearshift. It drives me crazy! I'm constantly reaching for the (non-extant) stalk. I'm also no fan of the backup camera that makes things five feet away appear as though they are fifteen feet or more distant.

How long have you owned it? Took me only 2-3 years.

You don't have to look at it. Alternatively, you could remove the wires(s) that connect it to the display :D

So you don’t like the dial shifter because you can’t stop reaching for a column shifter that ain’t there? I guess you just have to have your mind set to it and want it enough to learn the new placement. That’s what I did. Worked out for me.

Hmm, mine doesn’t do that but if you’re displeased that much with your camera, your truck shoulda come with a blank plugin that plugs into your tailgate harness for running without your tailgate. Might try that but if you have the electric auto-locking tailgate, you’ll lose that too. Not sure if that’d be an issue but surprisingly enough, there’s actually quite a few people who only want their tailgate to lock when they want it locked. The only other problem is if you have that tailgate ajar sensor, you might lose that too.

I hardly look at mine… LOL. Course, I’m a truck driver by trade so I use my sideview mirrors to back up, not that little screen.

Only time I look at my back up camera is when I’m hitching up to a trailer, or if I’m trying to back up to something that’s really really close but other than that, I use my mirrors.

But yeah, I wonder where exactly that wire is that comes from the reverse circuit or the back up lights that maybe you can cut that wire that activates the back up camera…

After putting the truck in park and pushing the stop/start button (to shut down the engine) I can’t put the windows up. Have to go back to the ACC mode to close the windows. Then to run, then off.

I’ll dig into the menu system to see if there is a setting, but so far I really don’t like this aspect of the Ram.

I really don’t mean to sound petty but can’t ya just roll your windows up before shutting your truck off?
