That's terrible advice :anitoof:
Maybe partially. But you can only think so much too a certain extent before you pull the trigger and get r done. Otherwise, you aren't getting jack done! :D

Nice looking truck. But I thought you wanted the 5.7 Hemi. If I’m not mistaken that’s got the SO Hurricane engine. No judgement from me since that’s what I would probably opt for if I bought a new Rebel right now.

I thought I did too but after driving both engines back to back, the 6 was just smoother with shifting and drivability. That Hemi still sounds sweet though.

They never said they were eliminating etorque for all models. The only model Tim Kuniskis mentioned (besides the 5.7 Rumble Bee) that they are eliminating etorque from is the Express. I wouldn't bank on them removing it from other models for 2027.

OP: The only "bad" I would mention is that all 5.7 Hemi's for 2026 have etorque. Most people haven't experienced problems with the system, but those who have seem to lose their truck for weeks or months waiting for replacement parts. Since you can't drive the truck if the MGU or 48v battery module fails, you might want to consider not getting the Hemi yet if you're at all concerned with that possibility.
Personally anything with an e in front of it like the power steering rack I would just avoid completely until they produce better models or you can go buy older models which are a lot better built with a lot less bloatware

I can’t believe I’m going to say this but I’m a 6 guy now and not the 8. I just test drove both engines and the 6 was just smoother in shifting. Since they’re eliminating etorque next year, I don’t know that I want to be sitting on an etorque model 5 years from now and having a mechanic tell me it’s junked and we can’t get parts.

Damn Rebel got my attention though. Ugh.
Or if you prefer the hemi, wait a year if feasible.

Have been driving for 55 years. I have owned hundreds of different vehicles of all makes and types in that time, but there was always a Mopar or two in the mix. I currently have two, a 2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee with the 5.7 that is my wife's daily driver and a 2020 2500. That said, if I was buying a new pickup today, given Stellantis is teetering on the edge of Bankruptcy, it would not be a Ram.

Long waits for parts, multiple examples of warranty claims denied, having to fight to get them approved, car in shop for months wanting for repairs, proliferation of lousy dealers, my local area still has two good ones, and on it goes. If I needed a HD, I would look at Ford or GM, 1500 I would buy Toyota for sure.
And Yet… Here You Are…. participating in a Ram Forum.

(Bet you have an identical post over at Ford and GM…)

I agree with most of that. Never know what the future brings, but a 2020 or so would be the newest ram I'd be comfortable with right now.

He still has two rams, I don't think him being honest about concerns with the current generation disqualifies him from the forum in any way. Now, people who join forums just to say "X brand is the worst machine ever made" and whatnot, that's another thing.

My uncle is 64 years old and always been a die hard chevy guy, but he admits he's not interested in a new one. However his solution is to keep driving older ones as long as he possibly can.

Of course, that's also a reminder that all brands have their troubles.

Maybe take the time to read my posts and consider just how much in depth knowledge I actually have about these vehicles. Might also want consider what I actually said in the post you quoted. With a 1996 Ram 2500 V10, a 2020 Grand Cherokee and a 2021 Ram 2500, I could hardly be described as anti Ram, but what Stellantis is doing to the brand is very bad news for all of us. If you can't see that or think what they are doing is good, not my problem.

As far as identical posts on Chev and Ford, you are talking out your hat. Only other auto forum I currently post on is Lexus, as I do own one of those too. Own quite a few other makes, don't post on those forums.

Have an excellent weekend.

It stands for the economy/environment/emissions that equals the Green New Deal, got to go full Electric how's that working out, Hybrid took that over that makes better sense, or e stands for enforcement.

Yeah…. that post of mine was un-called-for. I was bein’ a jerk… reading something into your post that probably wasn’t your intent at all.

I just kneejerk did what I hate to see others do…. :banghead:

(sincere apology)
