I'm on my second Ram and was wondering what kind of work you guys have had to do. On my 2014 I replaced

-both upper UCAs (previous owner had spacers in and popped the ball joints)
-3 sets of sway bar links
-rear caliper
-both rear rotors due to the e-brake cable sagging and setting the parking brake slightly
-both front wheel bearings

Had the truck for 30k miles. Bought it with 50k. Never touched the motor but it was a v6 with the 8 spd. Trans had a really rough downshift. My newer 2016 is 10x better but not without fault. It's at 48k and already had the HVAC unit replaced. Now the front end has developed a knocking. Love these trucks but not the stupid issues.

On my 2017 CTD, the water pump was replaced under a Technical Service Bulletin.

Steering box replaced under warranty.

That's it so far.

105,*** on my 2014. Bought it with 50k so I have no clue what was done before I bought but if I had to guess... nothing. Did the rear pads and rotors and spark plugs around 85k miles and have an appt next tuesday for the lower ball joints.

Brake pads, tires, spark plugs.
I have 109,000 miles on it now and it has been totally reliable.

I'm scheduled for the tailgate recall on Tuesday.

I was told Monday by my dealer that they still haven't found a fix for it. Maybe they found one since then. lol

Your dealer is not telling you the truth.
I was in the parts department yesterday and the parts guy asked me if mine had been done yet, then he showed me the part that they got in to fix it.
He says that they have already done about 10 of them.

97' 1500 - bought new - after 237K miles in 10 years, I replaces tires, brakes, water pump, thermostat, and front hubs/bearings/exhaust. Did I mentioned I towed a bobcat skidsteer, and plowed snow (commercially)?

07' 1500 - bought used with 37K miles. rear pinion bearing failed at 120K, rebuilt entire rear end. Front hubs/bearings/ water pump/egr/blower motor/exhaust. Sold at 155K miles.

18' 1500 - no problems in 18K

18' 3500 - 920 miles, still no problem :)

All done within the first 20k miles

Almost forgot...........hoses due to funky smell and 3 exhaust manifold bolts (bolts done about 2 weeks ago)

ha ha...on my 2012.........6 yrs old, but still below 27k........

oil & filter 6 or 7 times
W/W blades more than a dozen times (hate streaks)
transmission shifter mechanism (would not go into park when it was below 10 deg out, felt like a cable style shift mechanism that had ice/snow jammed in it) -> normal warranty item
power lumbar mechanism (just the switch was bad (slap the panel besdie the switch & it would work), but they claim they had to replace the whole thing) -> lifetime maxcare warranty item

Tires. BFG KO2's, bumped up a size. Lost a little on ride smoothness, but oh well.

All I did was replace the front struts with Bilstein 5100s at 2.1" for leveling (should have gone the 2.8", but that's history).
The Goodyear Wranglers wore out in 16K miles. Replaced them with BFG KO2s, 285-65 R20 (34-1/2").
Replaced the RA1 radio with a Sony XAV-AV200
It has Bluetooth phone, back up camera, XM Sirius, Apple Car Play and Android, wiring for sub-woofer, DVD player, etc.
I paid $500 for it installed and it sounds good. would sound better with the sub-woofer, but se la vie...

Bought my '15 with 47k on it.
Came with a bad front wheel bearing, replaced both of them with Timken hubs.
Now at 61k replacing it again, but not until after the dealership finds the front end vibration/bearing noises that are causing the shudder at speed on the highway.

Other than that, just the tires, oil, and air filter swapped for a drop-in K&N.

3 issues I shouldn't have had. First over 6 exhaust manifold bolts broken flush with the aluminum block. Sounded like lifter noise but wasn't. Cost over $1500 to fix. Dodge "engineers" apparently can't properly stress a bolt. Second, rear differential bearings replaced, mechanic said this is common with pre-stressed units that are overloaded by the factory, cost $1200 to fix. Third, HVAC not directing air flow properly, failed actuators/servos. Did repair myself at cost of $60 per actuator. Broken exhaust manifold bolts pissed me off most, very difficult to remove and dealer actually hired a specialist to get them out. I now call my Dodge a Bick Truck, totally disposable. 2012 Dodge Ram 5.7 hemi, just over 100K miles.

No parts replaced on my '13 but had to disconnect the battery once to reset the system. Nothing would come on including the starter. Wish I had tried that before he $85 towing bill.
