yes, those should be an Apline speaker, far better than the average paper/wizzer coned ones.

Man, I miss living 5 miles from the Fry's in Woodland Hills, CA. Not a single Fry's here in FL.:bawl:

Blackout, what speakers did you go with? As I said earlier, this appears to be a Kicker issue and not one with Dodge or their speaker openings.

The KS series must have normal-sized baskets. :(

What do you mean by "had to buy 4 to use 3?"

Have any of you tried the JL Audio C5 6 1/2" doors. They sound EXCEPTIONAL!

Alpine I do believe, the 3rd goes in the forward center of the dash. Alpine also puts 2 speakers in the headliner above the rear seats.

Great info in this thread. Thanks. Anyone know the size of those two speakers in the headliner?

Agreed on the great info. I'm also wondering about the headliner speakers. Planning to upgrade soon too

I ran into the same issues when I did mine. Dash speakers drop right in and sound great. I went with 6x9 Kickers up front and yes I had to remove some plastic. Kickers magnet is deeper than most. And yes they do sit against the speaker grills in the doors. No effect on sound quality. I did have to space them a bit. Rears I went with 5.25's with adapter plates. I'm running a 10" sub so wasn't looking for any bass from rear speakers.

Crutchfield sells wire harnesses that are plug and play for aftermarket speakers for our trucks. I think I got all six harnesses for $30 or so. Eliminates soldering anything. Also it extends the length of the wires which in the dash makes it alot easier to get in. A fellow forum member was kind enough to point this out before I did my install. Glad he did.

Dash:

Doors: Front and Rear

Hope this helps guys.

josh, i was thinking about component speakers like this, but i decided against it, because i don't want to have to setup the tweeters and drill.

6x9 is what i'm planning on getting but i hope it gives me good bass.
