Today I decided to clean up my air cleaner and breather and while I was standing back admiring them, I spotted what appears to be an open port of some kind sticking out of the firewall...

When the engine is running, nothing happens (I suppose that would be obvious, LOL). However when I turn the A/C on, cold air blows out of it. When I turn the A/C off, the port goes dead again.
Anyone know what the hell this is? I'm tempted to just block it off, but I'm curious if it's supposed to hook up to something of if it is indeed supposed to just be open.
