Really?! Actually its a simpler life but a harder life. Like both buildings here (Main House and Guest house) are heated by only firewood. (No electric heat or propane) So that means I got to haul back at least 12 cords a winter. It will cost me roughly $400 bucks for the entire winter for heat... Try that with electric heat, propane, or natural gas...
So yes I must work harder to fall the tree, buck it up into rounds, then load it up on the truck, haul it home, then unload it, split it up in chunks, then stack in the wood shed.
Then during the winter take the ATV down to the wood shed load it up and bring up firewood every day to the house. There is no thermstat on the wood stove to if you want it hotter stuff more wood in... If you want it cooler then you got to use less wood. So once winter flies here we are trapped to the property we can't leave it for long periods because the pipes will freeze.
So enjoy getting out now because winter time is coming...

The town of Yellow Pine, ID just got telephone for the first time like in 2006. The way they place calls was to go over to the airport and radio over to Casade, ID airport and have them place the calls for you. (No joke)
