I've had 2 oil changes since Mar 2023 when I bought mine, and I'm just now coming up on 12,000 miles because I don't drive any distance on a frequent basis. The first one was at about 4000 miles and I asked for Mobil 1, 0W-40, European Car Formula and that's when the mechanic found a leaking oil pan gasket. So I took it to the dealer under warranty at about 6000 miles because I was in the middle of moving cross-country and couldn't do it at that time. They had to change the oil to drop the pan and I don't know what oil they used. I'm getting ready to take it in for another oil change here in a week or so and will ask for either Pennzoil Platinum Plus, or Mobil 1 again.

Any quality oil filter will do.
Unfortunately, dealerships don't use quality oil filters, and neither do most oil changers either ;)

I think it depends more on where you live and how you use your truck. I didn't buy mine to be a passenger vehicle. It doesn't get put in a garage and gets plenty of cold starts. I also do quite a bit of towing.

I think the manufacturer's filters are okay, and dealerships are required to stock them. My dealer, like others in my area, are competing against oil changers and offer some kind of off-brand like My-Tee. These are probably marginal in many respects. There are filters offering better components and filtration and are going to cost more.

My lifters talk to me. They say “please run 10 weight so our springs don’t collapse and our bearings disintegrate.” Listen to your lifters speak. You can hear them on every startup

I think the dealers and repair shops coax us into changing oil more frequently than is needed just to perpetuate their existence. I change my oil one a year and use full synthetic oil. 277,000 miles later, my Ram 1500 still hums along.
I get mine changed every 6K which amounts to about every 11 months...

I ran my 2020 6.4 on Amsoil 0w-40 and a wiz filter. Oil changed @ 7 to 8k. Lab report at 150k was perfect. I was not all easy on that truck but took good care of it. I ordered through Amsoil as a preferred member. It was 100$ an oil change but with the miles I do I would changing it constantly so it was worth the price to go a bit longer. The other reason to run Amsoil was I had no dry starts which was an issue with all three hemis I had.

I changed over to 5w30 because I had the famous tick after every oil change with only 2,000 miles using 0w40, changed to 5w30 tick is gone and I change every 8,000 pulling a fifth wheel too

Copy that, but they're paper media filters and not synthetic fiber media.

Perhaps the SRT oil filter has a better media used in its construction?
They are Paper, at least sometimes, lol. If the media is white and has a cage, it is synthetic, some old srt's appear to have that. However, lately we see the paper back.

Mine say Mopar on them...
Never heard anything negative about them...;)
Sadly just because it has Mopar printed on the box or filter does not mean top quality... I recall as a kid after swimming in Mississippi river to make sure I removed that mud from the ears so I could hear better ;)

This guy doesn't have a problem with them...seem well constructed to me.

Well, i use Supertech full synthetic from Walmart and a fram PH2, the ph2 is easily twice the size as the one called for. I think the most important thing is to change the oil every 4-5k

Well I can say cutting any oil filter open will not tell you much the filtering media, how well or with what size of particles its is keeping trapped inside the filter, how much it the media can hold or what its not trapping in the filtering media...
