So i picked up some quad headlights that i already took apart

5XCLE.png

I was going to just paint them a colour match black, and throw some projectors and switchbacks in there from JJ :naughty:

but is there anything special i should do with them? like paint it a little different i don't know! i was going to tint the orange reflector with VHT i think? if that works?

any input is more then welcome :********:

Id paint all the chrome black like you said and then you could paint the shrouds a different color if you want a little contrast.

Thats a good idea for sure haha, but problem is i have no other colours on my truck so i wouldn't know what to do. I've always liked the deep blue of some of our trucks.

Anything will look good with black. What id do is paint the brake calipers and shrouds the same color so you will have a little something different then just all black everywhere.

colored shrouds kinda get lost in the black.

those are red shrouds.

Neat idea for up close though!

Tip - go put that lens in a box or something. Don't want stuff getting on the inside - you can't clean the inside (no clear coat!)

eh, you may see it....just depends on how clean the towel was.

The halos - epoxy them to the front of the shroud. :D

Yes exactly! you kind of have to do it all so that it doesn't just look like one thing, and it all ties together. Ive always wanted to do my trim pieces a nice mopar blue actually, i just cannot find it in a spray can! i know they make calliper paint thats the perfect blue colour. but i just need to find a nice blue that can match it. I like the idea of LEDs in the grille, but pretty sure blue would be illegal and since I'm going to school for policing...id rather not get pulled over for that issue :D

I'd probably just black it all out....oh wait that's what I did. :D

Looks like you've already got the hard part out of the way too!

If you had a different body color, I'd say match the shrouds and switchbacks to that (what I'd do differently on mine), but since you have a black truck is why I say just black it all out. I'm sure you'll come up with something to make yours different.

Warm up the glue and it will come off easier. Either stick them back in the oven or use a heat gun. But yeah...that's not exactly fun either, but not as bad as the actual baking part (IMO).
