What stereo has the big screen??

What type of stereo option is it called with the big screen?? I found one in a wrecked 2014 ram. Can i just pull my stereo and replace it with this one with out any more brackets or wiring harness? Sorry im new to the ram family and ignorant to the options and names of some things.

It's the Uconnect 8.4. Theres a version with and without nav but otherwise it's virtually the same. No, you cannot pull it out of that truck and put it in yours, not unless you find someone who is willing to make it work. Anything can be done, it's just a matter of figuring it out. RAM's official stance at this time is that it can't be done. If your truck didn't come with the Uconnect 8.4 then it can't be installed later.

Unfortunately, what shaner82 said seems to be 100% true.

The 8.4A and 8.4AN (with Nav) are the same unit.
The Nav can be purchased / enabled at the dealer.

Ahh man okay thanks. So i guess i will get an aftermarket stereo. I just like the way they look from the factory compared to the aftermarket. Any pics or advice on what stereo works or looks the best for what im looking for.

Here's a Chinese-made aftermarket replacement for the 5.0 that looks factory. This unit has been discussed in a few threads but so far I don't think anyone has reliable first hand experience with it.

The 8.4A and 8.4AN (with Nav) are the same unit.
The Nav can be purchased / enabled at the dealer.

There are still differences between the two units, even after you activate nav on the 8.4a.

The 8.4a still will not do 3D maps or HD radio. There are a few other suttle differences that may or may not matter to you.

I have 2012 upgraded my steeringwheel with Uconnect/voice command/radio buttons, 2012 evic cluster, upper maplight console with homelink. Lot of buttons don't work because I need to flash my CPU with correct vin codes. Contacted multiple ram dealerships that said it cod not be done to my 2012yr unless done at factory. Earlier years it was possible. After lots research heard of this guy in FL Jon Rodriguez at afterhoursmopar.com. He has access to chrysler CPU stuff dealerships don't have. Already spoke with him & confirmed he can get all upgrades workin. I just have to send him TIPM. I'm not saying he can do this to your 8.4 radio swap 2013/2014 ram, but if anyone can it is him. Hope this helps

What's this I'm reading? My 84.A (2013) can have the nav enabled?? Any idea of the cost? That would be great! I read the post about HD radio and 3D maps missing and that doesn't matter. Having nav at all would be a neat upgrade. I had an 09 Caravan with the big radio (for that time) without nav, and I was unable to add nav to that unit back then.

Awesome! Has anyone actually put this system in their truck? I would love this system... IDK if im willing to bust 500 bucks on something that may or may not work good or not look very good. That looks like it. Its not touch screen or anything.

That is the 5.0, looks like there was just the one version of the 5.0 so you should be good to go.

Yep i'm the 3.0 :/ Does this change anything with me being able to get the 8.4A or any other touch screen to fit the double din?

That I have no idea, I'm still in a 2012. My guess is it would be very expensive.... Probably cheaper to go aftermarket.... You would need everything to tie the hvac controls in with the 8.4 I think
