Convinced the wife to let me have some truck money after Xmas 15-1600$. As some of you know I live in alaska now so keep that in mind. There is only about 30 miles of paved road. And a **** ton of dirt loggn roads. The truck is a 2012 4 door express. My family's only vehicle. I have a mopar Cai, 14" manga flow, and a race land cutout. I have cooper at3s with a lot of life left so I don't need new tires. I don't want to tune, Just never been a fan (scarred really) to mess with the trucks computer. I was thinking headers but I don't know if the gain is worth the money if I'm not going to tune. Help me decide.

On a good note. The previous post for the code cleared itself and never came back

My race land cutout has been through hell and back. From under hurricane sandy saltwater, cross country, and now caked in south east alaska mud. And still works flawlessly

And I can't say enough about these tires. Like them a lot more than my previous zeons.

Please help me send 1500 bucks. I do like the arh headers. But I could use some convincing

with 1500$ to spend, you can make that go along way with varying mods. especially where you live there are great accessories / mods you could do.

Brush Guard
Auxillary Lighting
spray in bed liner
Tow Hooks
Tool Box - multiple uses
Bilstien Shocks - Leveled or OEM height
Catch Can - forum suggested
Y-pipe mod
Tow Hitch
Ported TB
Diablo Tuner - HemiFever Tune
Stereo Upgrades
Tint
Tonneau Cover

why get one mod, when you can pair up a few at once.
I wish i had 1500$ for mods right now

That's easy. Just send it to me, lol. :laughing1:

In all seriousness, not that it takes $1500, but you could go for the 5100's and maybe rear spacers to level and slightly lift the truck. I just did mine last week and have to say I love it. More ground clearance and better stance IMO. I would think in Alaska you could use a little more ground clearance with the snow you have to deal with.

Lighting upgrade (projectors, Hella's behind the grill, LED bar - or all 3). I've only been to AK in the summer so it was light a lot, but I understand in the winter months it gets DARK. Being able to see would be top priority for me if I had to live there.

I already have a bed cover, and the dealer spray in Bed liner, I never thought of the tow hooks and that would be a smart idea for here. And with all the bumpy ****** roads, I can only imagine with a level. My ball joints won't last to much longer. It doesn't have to be for performance. I do like the idea of more lights. On the count it's dark all the damn time, but I'm no wiring wizard. The only parts store we got here has some stupidly bright LED BARS. But I wouldn't know how to wire them into the truck. I think they would look bad ass behind the grill.

LED bars are stupid easy to wire up. So much less hassle than dealing with HIDs. Trust me on that.

Well it looks like some lights and maybe two hooks, Bunch of guys at work tryn to convince me to get a tuner. Anyone here with good luck using the bullydog. I do like how id be able to monitor a lot of the parameters. As for wiring the led bar. When I did the cutout I went to the battery with both wires. Would I do the same with an inline switch on the + side. Is there any negatives to having a bunch of **** on the battery

I would look into diablo instead of BullyDog. with diablo you can get a custom tune with better results, should you got that route.

Tow Hooks / Tow Hitch would be great accessories for you, should you ever get stuck off road / snow. then look into some quality Tow Straps. Aux Lighting will be a huge accessories that you can use regularly.

I think your mod money would be best spent on " Utility Accessories " since you described that your truck is frequently off pavement ( kinda jealous lol ). This is purely my opinion, but hey its your money to have fun with ! all we can do is help you blow it lol.

The only problem with running things directly off the battery is that you do not have a fuse. If you were to have a short, you could burn the wire and worst case scenario set fire to the truck. Because the LED bar draws so little amperage, you could use an existing fused connection (20 amp minimum) for the light. Just make sure you get one that allows you to have power when you want it ( like key on or engine on).

If you see yourself doing a lot of little lights or other electrical gadgets, you could run a line off the battery to a dedicated fuse block, then wire things off of that. It may sound complicated but it is really super super easy and a few small things can make the job look really professional. Plus, its always nice to learn a new skill.

good shocks and a small lift. if you spend that much time off paved roads, thats the best place to spend your money, imo.

As a fellow Alaskan, you might want to consider some things like locking differential, skid plates, maybe convert to synthetic oils.

I absolutely cannot recommend to you enough, the purchase of a catch can. I have put mine on and damn... it may not give you 1230258 HP or improve gas mileage, but I am sold on the concept of prolonging my engine life.
