Ok, I am buying a truck here shortly but i need some advice. I am looking at a 05 to 07 3rd gen slt hemi and a 4th gen 4x4 quad st power windows and locks andwith the 4.7. Assume both are the similar price and mileage.

There's a few major difference there. Having owned a 3rd and a 4th gen there is a huge quality/comfort improvement in the new version, but to sacrifice the hemi to get it..? Hmm. Tell us what your main uses for the truck will be and we can better advise

If it was me I would go with the newer 4.7, that's just my opinion.

There will be no special use for this truck. I doubt i would pull anything heavier than a small pull behind or enclosed trailor. I am looking at the 4th gen because of thw quality upgrades. For the majority of my driving i use my company truck. I really wNt a laramie crew 4th gen. But its not in my budget. Once wifes car get paid off then i can slip into. 4th gen hemi. But that is 2yrs out. This would be a fun truck bad weather for the wife. I may consider putting a small lift on it.
