So just as the question States...I just bought this truck and now notice that when I'm backing up the picture is B/W? Loose connection maybe?

Mine looks kinda black and white at night. I don't think a loose connection is causing it. If it was, I think you would have more of a on/off effect.

During the day I can barely see it at all but when I can it's completely b/W.. The reason I ask is it looks like my tail gate lever has separated a bit and pulling out.

Do you think it would be easier to just replace the cable all together maybe including the camera? I haven't priced them.

If it's factory, you can bet it will be expensive. I would check the connection on both ends before I started throwing parts at it.

The way you described it being dim during the day makes me think it is stuck in night mode. Make sure nothing is blocking the sensor.

Is the sensor on the dash? Great idea, I'll check those. Yes it is factory. I bought a 3 year bumper to bumper warranty so I'm wondering if that will cover this.

depends on how your extended warranty is called out some do, some dont.

to me sounds like the cam it self and not the wiring. if it was wiring it would be more flickering and not black/white

Not color-blind are ya? ;)

As stated above, sounds like its stuck in "night-mode". Before jumping too deep into disassembling anything, try disconnecting the negative battery cable and letting it sit for a few minutes. Gives everything a reboot.

Lol... Nope not color blind... I'll try the negative battery deal tonight just to rule it out. Thanks for the suggestion.

np... may not solve anything, but its free and easy and the only downside is having to reenter your radio stations and set the clock...

is there a setting for that on the older radios where you can turn it on at anytime?
