Hey all. Been dealing with a multitude of issues on my new late model '17. It's the EcoD model but almost all of the issues are not related to anything mechanical. Here's a list of the issues:

1. First thing noticed was the gauge cluster clear cover was scratched from the factory. Returned it and it's fixed.
2. Passenger seat belt would not stay latched. The latch was replaced and it seems to be fine since.
3. Had an air leak on the drivers door the first day I drove it home. Brought it back to be fixed. The service adviser noticed the weather stripping was off of the front of the rear door and getting pinched in the front door when it was closed. Put the weather stripping back on the rear door and said it should be good. Also found that at the top of the front driver side door that the black "sticker" or molding was cracking off at the top. He placed the sticker on order and I had that, the seat belt, and the gauge cover all replaced the following week. The air leak was still there however and I returned yet again to be told the technician tightened the latch on the driver side door and that should fix it which it did. However, knowing that the leak came from the top of the door where the pillar sticker was cracking tells me the door is bent since that how the sticker began to crack and is very common when paint metal bends. Band aide fix IMO.
4. There is a noise that has been increasing in volume coming from under the hood. Sounds like an engine bearing. At first I thought it was the air equalizing due to the turbo however it is a constant and is very clearly heard when at 1,500-2,000 rpms. This has been proven not to be an issue on a new truck after test driving it with both the service tech and the service manager and comparing to mine. I was told drive it and if it gets worse bring it back. Not fixed.
5. Remote start has not worked consistently. There has been 5 or 6 times when I will remote start the truck and it does not start after 5 minutes or so and on the dash it states "Remote Start In Progress" although it won't start. I have to cancel it, open the door, then shut the door and remote start again. The tech has said that there was a DTC for the cruise control and the cruise control buttons were replaced and that will likely fix my issue. I have no idea how that is related or if that will fix it or not.
6. Temperature sensor can read 40 or more degrees above normal which then cancels out my heated seats/steering wheel and heater from turning on when it's cold out. I've had this happen when it's 30 degrees out and the temp sensor reads 70 degrees. No fixed.
7. Can't fill the gas tank. First visit for this found that the gas filler hose was twisted at the factory. They untwisted it however I still can't fill my 26 gallon tank with more than 20 gallons regardless of how little fuel I have left. Not fixed.
8. Uconnect is very slow response issues. When turning the sound on after muting the radio it takes 203 seconds to come back on. I had the same system in my '13 and never had this issue. Also, the volume buttons are very slow in response time. Sometimes they work and other times they may not register or you can press the button 8 times and only 6 of the times register. I've also had the sound cut in and out recently on different occasions almost like a CD is skipping on both XM and USB. Not fixed.

I have less than 7k on this truck and had 3 loaners now for a few days at a time. What would you think if this was your situation? What would you expect?

There has been an active case open on the truck and it seems that Ram Care has been fairly responsive but the issues still remain.

are you happy with your truck or not?

what are you looking to do, get fca to buyback your truck?

i have a 17 ecod built in 11/17, when was yours built, it seems like yours was built end of day or something weird since it has so many random issues.

These are my issues with my 17

Front leather seats
Driver door alignment
Fender flare paint
Coolant level loss
Front bumper alignment
Rear tailgate alignment
Rear passenger door panel damage

I have the random passenger seatbelt issue and my xm/usb cuts in/out often to the point im looking up and going wtf there is no bridge or overhead anything going on here....

I have the random engine bearing noise, mine is when you let off and coast, it sounds like a bad bearing lol

Remote start has not worked occasionally, i would say it still works 75%+ of the time.

I had issues with my 14 hemi not being able to fill up - not with my 17 though.

I do enjoy the truck. I really bought it for the mileage as most EcoD owners have. I drive 80 miles a day and it helps the pocket book. Is it too much to ask for a bumper to bumper warranty to 100k? I've owned 2 Rams prior to this and they were great. Never had any repairs, just maint like tires, oil, etc. My thought when driving this is "what's next?"

Build quality is not the best for FCA, so its kidna hit and miss

you got me looking closely at my instrument cluster now, it seems like it has some light scratches when they tried to wipe it off or something

Could be but crazy all the random crap. Also since you asked, my build is 10/17.

I would keep working the list and get them to resolve all the items.

Follow up with the service adviser and service manager. Make appointments. Spend some time to discuss the results with them each time they work on an issue. Follow up again if something is not resolved and still requires resolution.

In effect, be a pest.
