Hey guys just have a question about wheel alignment. I have two sets of tires at the moment, winters and summers. Once winter comes I am trying to decide if I want to sell my winters and just run one set all year on my stock rims. My other idea is to run two sets of tires on two sets of rims because I don't really want to get my tires swapped every season on one set of rims. Now, my winters are 285's and my summers are 305's. If I were to buy another set of rims I would get a nice black set for my summer tires, preferably not stock offset. Now if I do this then I would just swap them myself each season. But will I need a wheel alignment each time, switching offsets? If I get another set of stock offset rims, will I still need a wheel alignment each time anyways considering the tires are different sizes? TIA

None of that has any effect on alignment. Extreme tire width differences can cause slight camber changes simply because of how much tire is contacting the ground. But unless the suspension geometry changes, alignment stays the same. Wheels and tires have no effect on alignment. As long as both wheels and tires on a single axle are the same size of course.

Okay yeah, so both sets of tires are the same height one set is just and inch or so wider so I should be alright?

It honestly wouldnt matter if the winters were 24" tall and the summers were 33" tall, it will not change the alignment. The alignment is done to the suspesnsion and steering system, not the wheels or tires.

The mention I made about the camber /tire width is generally for lowered applications, and severe differences in tire width like 235's to 305's.

Sounds like the easiest way to me.

I'm glad I dont have to bother with having two sets of street tires lol
