Id like to put a 20" Fuel maverick in chrome, they seem to have three options 20x9 20x10-24, 20x10-12. I do not like the wide look but dont want to have the tire inside the well, Looking to put a 37x12.5 terra grappler, trucks getting 6" on the 27th, any input or advice would rock

How far are you wanting them to stick out from under the truck? That's the main questions.

For the tires you're planning to run and what you've said I'd recommend 20x9 -12 offset. You shouldn't have any issues with rubbing on that setup and it will be sticking out around 2" past your fender, 1" past OEM flares if you have them.
20x10 wheels will give you a deeper lip but they'll also stick out further which will likely require trimming as well for clearance. 20x10 -12 offset will be about 2.5" past your fender, -24 offset will be about 3" past your fender.

How concerned should you be for your paint with 2" sticking out without any flares?

Honestly, on a lifted truck flares do nothing to stock debris. If you look at the angle of how anything flies up off the front tires it's all going to hit the truck anyway.
My tires stick out about 4" past my flares. Do I have rock chips on the rocker panels? Yes of course. Does a stock height truck with stock tires get rock chips on the rocker panels too? Yes. The difference in what gets more or less is really going to depend on where you drive more than the height of the truck. At the end of the day you kind of learn to be okay with a few chips here and there as much as it sucks. I'd still much rather have a few rock chips than have some big ugly long john mudflaps hanging on my truck.

Bushwackers with trigger kick backs, looks sweet and helps debris a lot. Paired with -12 offset would be a good fit.
