I have a 2014 ram crew cab with an 8 speed and 3.21s. I lowered it with the belltech 2/4 drop with air lift bags. I'm running stock shocks all the way around. From a 20 mph or from a stop the truck wheel hops pretty badly. Has anyone had this issue? I was thinking about installing a hellwig sway bar in the rear and installing the belltech shocks to see if that helps. I know spohn makes lower and upper control arms but they're pretty pricey. Any info is helpful.

My 14 Ram crew 4x4 8-speed 3:21 geared truck wheel hops bad now after lowering it 2/3 GF kit. I installed the factory LSD and it is brutal now.. it's too bad I need to figure it out.. I used the shorter end links on the front and adjustable ones on the rear.
Any information on getting this cured would be greatly appreciated by me as well.
I drag race my truck from time to time and I can't come off the line hard at all starts to spin and instantly turns into wheel hop.
It really sucks...

After you lowered your trucks the pinion angle has changed. A sway bar won't help. Easy fix if you had leafs.

You need lower control arms with better bushings

Thanks for the quick reply, now I need to save more money.. lol
At least I know what I need to get to fix the problem now.
Thanks again, Bill

I believe the fix is mostly from the better bushings but they dont make those our factory control arms. I dis ask energy suspension about it and they said its 6 months away.

New control arms help, but so do drag radials or slicks. My advice is to get the tires first...this way you benefit from traction, less rolling weight, higher gear ratio from the shorter tire, and no wheel hop. Kill 4 birds with 1 stone.

My 2/4 lowered 2WD is cutting mid 1.6 60' times, and my 2/3 lowered 4WD cut a 1.79 the last time I raced it...both with stock control arms, slicks, and no wheel hop. All you really need is a sticky tire, and these truck hook up great.

Airbags/load assist bags will eliminate most of the wheel hop on a dirt road and at the track about 13psi on RR and 8psi on or seems to work good on 4gen cc at the track for launching
