The wheel hop in my truck is terrible.

It was 38* outside with wet roads and it still wanted to wheel hop really bad.

Its a stock suspension / tire 4x4 truck.

I realize there will always be some with coil springs, but its not good. lol

Is everyone's this bad?

what kind of tires? that's seems odd especially on wet roads.

My 1500 would do it pretty bad on dry pavement but wet pavement was fine. I had 3.55's vs your 3.92's so that might hurt you in this instance. I also had the wrangler silent armor tires vs the SRA tires, that might have helped me too.

My truck has never exhibited wheel hop. I have qc w/3.92s (granted I have the 545RFE), but I have never had a lot of wheelspin either. Are you sure it isn't jsut the traction control doing weird ****? I know with the traction control on, if I put one wheel in the dirt, and the other on the pavement on the side of the road the traction control freaks the **** out, and actually "feels" very similar to wheel hop.

Probably not your problem though, I also have a lot of weight in the bed, HD shocks (I have an outdoorsman model which is quoted as having special ones whatever the **** that means), and air bags, so my rear suspension could be "stiffer" than yours.

I would check all of your control arm bushings, shocks and tire pressure
Usually wheel hop in a 4 link suspension is caused by bad/soft bushings

2012 crew, 392 lsd 6speed. Maybe twice and only wet roads

It doesn't happen all the time.

the more i thought about it , I think a lot of it has to do with the crappy roads around here. once I hit a little bump while spinning it just magnifies a whole bunch.

I guess i'll have to do more testing. :ROFLJest:

Yeah ****** roads dont help anything. We have lots here and sometimes i freak out because it starts pulling to the side or wierd vibrations then i realise after i change road its just the road.
You would think you would get used to it but sometimes it catches you by suprise.

also my other truck has cal tracs and enough power to light them up for as long as I want to.

But when you have just barely enough power to make them spin with coil springs , its not going to be pretty .. :favorites13:

mine has wheel hop as well. completely stock right down to the tires 14 sc sport 3.92 rear, dry pavement traction control off throttle to the floor. i didnt think it would have been a problem with the rear suspension setup.

I was being sarcastic.
It could be that the factory are just to soft but I wouldn't dismiss the idea that one may be installed properly or even blown out already just cause it's a new truck.

Who am I to stop you from throwing money at random parts to try to fix it.
