I am looking for a new A/T tire to mount on Vortek 608. Any recommendations for a tire and should I go with a 17" wheel or a 20". It will be going on my 2018 Ram rebel with a leveling kit.

With 17" rims the tires will be less expensive, probably more choices and they're better if you plan on actually off roading the truck. The 17"s will have more side wall to cushion over rough terrain, not to say that you can't off road with 20's. The 20"s look better to some with the shorter sidewalls and they do feel more planted while driving.
Either rim diameter can have a similar overall diameter. The OEM Rebel tire size 285/70/17 is the equivalent of the OEM 20" tire size of 285/60/20, both give you an approximate 33" diameter tire

Go with the 17s, or 18s, not 20s. More sidewall lower purchase cost for tires, somewhat better selection available.

I just switched from 20s to 17s on my 1500 classic warlock. Made a big difference in ride.

Great tire prices and will match deals

I just went from 17's to 20's (and from 33 to 34" tires, both E-rated and all-terrain but different brands) - gained 15.6 pounds per corner of rotating, unsprung weight. Not all of that is the wheel diameter but some of it is.

I just put Maxis Razor AT’s on my Power Wagon. Ride very smooth. Quiet for the aggressive tread pattern they have . I really like them. I’ve had BFG KO2’s, General Grabber AT’s, Goodyear Duratracks, Bridgestone Revo 2’s. I got the 285 70 17’s E rated. The non-E rated ones are less $. So, if you don’t have a 2500/3500 you can get the le$$ priced ones.

I upgraded to 35/12.50x20 on my 2500, bone stock only rubbed when articulated too extreme. No leveling or lift.

Mine's a 2020 Warlock, I just picked up some take-off 17's from a 2017 Rebel and the calipers run pretty close to the inside of the wheels, has that ever been a problem? With 20s there looks like enough room to go mud bogging without packing the brakes with mud, did the factory put smaller diameter rotors on trucks with 17s?

My 2007 Ram came with 265-70-17 tires. I replaced them with 305-50-20’s. Got way better traction with no rubbing or cleareance problems. And my speedo remained accurate. This is a 2wd shorty with stock uspension.

I have had no issues, but my RCSB RT handles them better. My new 24 is built as an overland rig, not a canyon carver

When I ordered my 24 1500 classic warlock, I had 2 wheel options 17s or 20s. No difference in brakes. I ordered 20s as my plan was to use them in a different function. I purchased aftermarket 17s to go to 315 70 17 s. I guess you could have issues between the caliper and wheel but so far I have not had any problems. I've had mine almost up to the skid plates in mud. Enough to have to use the pressure washer to hose out the wheels
