wheel studs and aftermarket wheel problems

Hey guys, I have a 2008 dodge ram 1500 big horn that came with stock 20" wheels I just bought some Mickey Thompson classic black III 17" wheels and some nitto terragrappler tires but when I did my wheel fit the wheel wouldn't sit flush on the hub due to the base of the wheel stud sticking out from the hub? has anyone ever had this happen to them, or does anyone know how to fit it without machining the MT wheels?

You may have to use spacers. it depends also on the offset of the wheel.
