Hi all, I found this blue soft plastic (flexible) cap near the rear differential of my 2017 Ram 2500 with the Cummins engine. It's about 1-1/4 inches long. Does anyone know where it could have fallen from? Cheers.

looks like a generic plastic cap that is used on a lot of things. Never seen one n that color though? Is it the same color as your truck?

Thanks for the reply. No, the truck is red. I know that the cap is some kind of connector cap or fluid line cap, or similar, but I'm hoping to find out specifically what it's for. I crawled around the underside of the truck for about 15 minutes but couldn't see anything.

Cap looks to clean and new to have come off a 8 year old Nova Scotia truck,i'd hazard a guess it's from something else

Looks like a bullet connector sleeve. Is there a hole in the skinny end?
Something like this.

That's a vinyl pull-tab cap. Those things have numerous applications. Impossible for us to say where it came from.

These are helpful replies, thanks! I had to clean up the cap to make it look so good. It was covered in grime and I thought it was black at first. It's definitely from my truck, as it is parked in one spot only and that is where I found the cap.

Check to see if your differential vent has a cap on it.

I think post #9 has the answer, and the cap you found has been lurking atop the fuel tank, or stuck in a corner of the frame rail, etc. for all these years and finally worked its way to an escape point. Add it to the grandkid’s pile and take them out for an ice cream cone.

Best,
RI
