I’m asking this because the dealer just put on a leer topper on my 2019. It fit very portly so the dealer called leer and they initially said that it was the correct top that fits all 2019-2020 Rams with the 6.4 bed....1500,2500,3500

now after a little research I see that the 2019 1500s have a new bed that looks different than ours.

I pointed this out so the dealer called leer again and they said they would send a new one that matches the 2018 2500s.

long story short are our beds the same as the 2018s.

Pics of mine in white and what I read about the bed changes. Appreciate any knowledge.

It has the lower picture, the “classic” 6’4” bed. Should be the same for all 2009-2020 6’4” beds, unless there was a minor change I’m unaware of along the way.

Edit: I just re-read your post, and Leers answer disturbs me. NOTHING should be totally compatible with all 2020 1500, 2500 and 3500 6’4” beds, unless they’re just referencing the 1500 Classic. The DT 1500 has a different bed than the HD trucks. Maybe they sent the one for the DT 1500 6’4” bed and whoever they spoke with is under the impression that bed cap should work on the new 2500 as well? I’d be interested in the part number they supplied your dealer with.

I’m was under the impression that the 2 separate beds was only a 1500 thing but I could be wrong...Either way I wouldn’t be accepting that topper with that fitment. Good that they are getting you another one.

The new style 1500 beds are completely different than the 2500 beds...even the 6’4” bed on the 1500.

I suppose that could be an easy screw up on their part. But they were completely wrong.

However, I am actually pretty impressed how well it does fit for being the completely wrong topper.
