Which WIX XP is correct?

Hey guys,

I'm seeing some conflicting info in some of these threads.

Which is the correct part number for the larger WIX XP for my 17 2500 6.4?

57060XP

OR

57899XP

?

When i look up the one ending in 99 on oreilies website, it only shows older 5.7 2500s

I just want to be sure I'm using the right filter come oil change time.

The 57060 is the stock replacement. Check the wix filter lookup. I think the one you want is the 57045. Its the closest to the size of the 57060 and longer. The 57899 does not look like it will work as it is almost an inch larger in diameter.

57899 actually works just fine on the 1500 5.7 and the 2500 6.4. the diameter of the filter is bigger but the seal area diameter, pressure specs, thread, etc are all identical to the OEM spec tiny filter. It used to be the recommended filter before RAM went to the smaller. and I can attest via empirical data, it works. its fatter but not longer. So I assume 57045 is longer not fatter. I'm going with girth, not length....

Just did my oil today.

Heres a pic of the fatty in its home.

Now if i could just find that dang front driveshaft nipple. I spent another 20 minute with my shop light and magnifiers with no luck!

there will absolutely no difference going either way so choose which one is available or what ever one your comfortable with if your using a quality oil and a quality filter every 5k the filter capacity between these 2 is irrelevant in a well taken care of engine. i wouldn't over think it

That's kind of what I was thinking, but more filter media and a filter that holds a little more oil can't hurt i don't think. But it's probably such a minimal improvement it probably won't matter either way.

actually plenty of room, not hotdog down a hall way room but enough (that was for you 68powerwagon). pic just makes it look tight.

What do yall think my chances are that should i have an engine failure under warranty that FCA would deny me if i use a filter other than the spec one? That's my concern anyway since i have 4 yrs, 11 months and 59,850 miles of power train warranty left. Lol
