Who else loves that they're continuing on with the Ram classic?

I think it will hurt resale, the new owner would prefer the newer amenities of the 5th gen, and if smart enough will know that the frame/chassis is outdated back to 09, with a tranny update in 2014.

And since the trucks are sold at a even higher discount then before (I had a 14 and a 17) resale value would go in the bucket.

But I hope they will keep values up but doubt it since there will be sooooo many years of old trucks for him/her to choose from

Not as much off classics now than when I bought my 18.about 3000 diff.they will throw some limited edition packages at the classic a new grill or wheels maybe .they said update not refresh.i wouldn't expect new sheet metal or interior.drivetrain? It's fca who knows what they will throw in it.

Wow I figured it would end after this year. If it’s working for them why not

It does give them the option of selling something at a mid-sized truck price without selling actual mid-sized trucks (in other words, the only true mid-size you're gonna get is sold by Jeep -- called the Gladiator --, so nobody hold their breath waiting for a new Dakota, mm'kay?)

Not true...from Allpar.com:
The 2013 Ram 1500’s frame was redesigned with greater stiffness to increase stability and handling while cutting noise and vibration up to 30%. Front rails have 20% higher yield strength due to high-strength steel. The new frame design has new powertrain, air suspension, and body mounting technology.

Back in 2008 when the first pics of the 4th gens came out I was all excited and told myself I was getting one someday. It took until 2013 but I got mine. I have a company vehicle so my truck doesn't get driven that much at all but after 6.5 years of ownership I still love my truck. The 5th gens just don't get me excited like the 4th gens do. So yeah I'm extremely happy they're continuing production of the classic. Plus it means parts for the 4th gen trucks will be easier to find for longer.

I bought the Classic because I did NOT want a RAM looking Toyota. From 94 til the Classic have been some good looking trucks. "IF" I could not get a Classic I am not sure I would have bought a new truck. Plus because of the Classic parts will be more available as well as cheaper used parts. Plus I LOVE the Hemi.

I wish they would do a 1500 with an OFF-ROAD pkg with as much of a difference over a reg 1500 as it was in 2000.
I have a new 2019 Laramie Sport with the 4x4 off road package and it looks different and sets higher from the factory than the regular 4x4 Rams. It has heavy duty shocks and suspension and I love the truck.

I've had an 09, 11,13 and 15 Ram and now have a2019 Laramie Sport 4x4 off road and live it. I was tired of buying new Rams that all looked the same!

That'd be nice...

I was starting to get used to the 5th-Gen look, though if they could blend in the 5th-Gen shape with the 4th-Gen crosshair grille and get rid of those dorky hood-badges, then it'd be almost perfect (oh, and shrink the Ram's Head on the tailgate... and completely get rid of that uber-massive "RAM" badge off the tailgate too.)
Those are all the things I hate about the new ones too-plus the hood with the dip in the center doesnt work for me-I like 4th hoods and keep the crosshairs, you can spot a ram from a long way away with thoseView attachment 175718 View attachment 175718 View attachment 175718 View attachment 175718

Very happy to hear this news. Will give me one more year to choose from when it comes time to replace my '12. Not a big fan of the new body style.

Of the two, I'd be much more likely to buy the "Coke" Classic. It's a much better looking truck, IMHO. They got so much right with the exterior lines of the 4th gen! I also love the fact that they did away with the stupid, fake dual exhaust with bumper cut-outs and now have a smooth bumper with a single, rear/side-exit exhaust. The lightweight, 17" x 7" 5-spoke aluminum wheels that come on the Ram Express are also something I love.

That's about where I'm at, almost. Have had an 11,13 and now 17...next truck I get, if I stay in a ram, will be a 5th gen just cause I've had my fill of the 4th gen at this point.

Still waiting for a RCSW with a hellcat engine. I don't give a damn what they call it!!!!! Decent pricing would also be a consideration.

Would love one also, but doubt I would get one. Even decent pricing would be too much for me.

Yeah just for the record I really like the 5th gen inside and out. I just think is awesome that they're continuing the 4th gen for resale value...which I predict will stay up longer as the years of classics are still made... the parts availability... the looks... etc.
