From what I understand the 2011 has a different rear axle then the 2009-2010 models. So until the manufactures come out with new gears for the axle we are stuck with only what mopar offers.

This is correct. I've got a buddy with a 2011 itching to get gears an a locker but he can't. He was told it will be at least a year before they have something for the 2011s. Sorry to be the bearer of be news...that really sucks.

Never thought these trucks went below 3.55. I regeared to 4.56 and an auburn LSD. I love it.

I did not think so either I but have ready many posts where people have the 3.21 in 09's. It may be a 2wd thing as where I live I almost never see a 2wd on the road and definitely have never seen a new 2wd at the dealer so no window sticker to see the 3.21. I cannot imagine worse towing than 3.55's but I guess that just goes to show there is always worse and to be thankful :)

Just search for 3.21 in Ram and there are a lot of hits.

You guys may like this as I found it while looking on the web here

2009 Dodge Ram 1500: Dyno-Tested

It shows the power curve for Ram, Tundra, Titan, & Silverado

It makes it clear why the right gear must be paired with the motor to get max better power to the ground. Unlike diesel the Hemi and all these gas engines need more RPM to make max power so to tow obviously higher RPM will make it easier and seemingly more efficient when doing work. Make sure you look at the numbers on the side of the charts as they are not exactly the same size chart.

The Hemi peaks sooner than the rest making it hold true to the tradition of being awesome :)
