Just realized I haven't said anything about my truck.

98 5.9 4x4. Its got 191,000 on it and the only major thing I've done to it is rebuild all the steering, although I think someone has rebuilt the tranny with a shift kit. The lady I got it from only had him for a few months before realizing the mechanic wanted to much to fix the steering so I basicly stole it for $600. I'm guessing im the fourth owner. Someone along the line did some crappy work to the truck such as installing a brake caliper with only one bolt on both sides! And completely stripping an axle nut to name a few. I plan to drive it for as long as I can then stick in the yard as a lawn ordament, then find another great 2nd gen.

Drum roll please! 315K. 5.9 L 2WD 1997 ext cab short bed.
Replaced water pump, alternator, usual maintenance things. Also had to replace the harmonic balancer.
Engine plugs blew out right after I bought the truck in 1998 at 36,000 miles. That I understood was a factory defect Dodge knew about.
It’s in the shop now getting a new heater core and Freon core ( not sure if I’m using the right term there...)
Heater core had been bypassed but will get replaced with the work on the heat exchanger.

01 quad cab 5.2 off road. Sold it at 295,000 a year and a half ago and I see it on the road once a week still. Trans at 70,000, rear pinion seal popped and lost rear end at 215,000.[/QUOTE

Do you ever wish you hadn't sold it since you see it every week?

Wow! I’m impressed! I’m getting kind of nervous here though... reading about all that CAN go wrong in a truck! It’s an education for me.

(I’m at 315k on my 97 5.9L)
