Need to add "Because I could not afford it".. Want and need are very different and some people can live with the fact they can only afford what they need. Do I WANT a better truck? Yes.. can I afford it? No.. Do I like my truck? Yes. Could it be better? Yes, do I spend money to make it what I wanted? No.. See what I mean?

I would think that would fall under "I've got what I could afford and hope to upgrade it as I go"? I understand if your not upgrading it and don't plan to but a choice exactly tailored to each and everyone of us would be more than these fat fingers could type! I will add another option to cover anyone that isn't covered by the ones currently available.

Have you upgraded your bulbs? Mine came with the premium projectors and although they’re great headlights- the best on any vehicle I’ve ever had the pleasure of owning for stock headlights but the bulbs are as cheap as those Goodyear SRA’s they put on the wheels at the factory. New bulbs later, everything is fine, how it should be.

I'm keeping this one and hope in the spring to order/install an Inez 4/6 lowering kit and pull out this air suspension.[/QUOTE]

I've never heard of this, is it a big deal to do the conversion? Thanks

I bought what I needed but I do like to "tinker" with the truck so I have done a few upgrades along the way. One thing I did add was leather seats. I wanted leather but did Not want/need a Laramie package and all that comes with that. Also was harded to find leather in a split bench front seat so I just added it after.
There are also a few options I did not put enough thought into at the time of purchase that I would probably get next time around.

Adding a bunch of stuff after the fact because you couldn't afford the options at purchase time will cost you more in the end so it doesn't really make sense to me.

With that said I have seen people do some crazy things "upgrading". Like trying to turn a single rear wheel truck into a dually and vise versa. Just sell it and get what you want/need.

.

I hear you in regards to the leather bench seat. I didn't require leather but I wanted a Laramie because of some of the options that comes with. One major sticking point that caused me to order my truck was because the higher trim levels mostly have buckets with a console.

Wow. OP managed to provide eight possible answers yet left out probably one of the most obvious one.

I'd answer the question with item #9: FCA don't make the truck I want. (yet? I hope...)

I want:

12" screen
Ram Box
vented seats
6-foot bed
quad - NOT crew - cab

Because of 12" & vented seats, I am forced to go Laramie (or higher) trim.
Because I want quad cab I'm forced to 6 foot bed (which is okay, because I want the 6 foot bed)
FCA doesn't make the Ram Box for the 6 foot bed. (Yet. ? I can only hope that one day they will).

Hence I don't have the truck I want.

They made the Ram Box for the 4th Gen in the 6-4 bed.

My guess is they wanted to see how well that new body style kicked off before they started making the Ram box in the new body styles.

But, I found this:

These are what I started out with. https://www.sylvania-automotive.com/products/headlights-and-fog-lights/silverstar-zxe/index.jsp

Little pricey, but good bulbs, indeed. Probly coulda had a little better results with that 9005 to 9006 conversion on the highbeams but keeping all that the same, I was pretty happy with them.

Now I have vanquish auto led highs and fogs, and HID lows. Much, much better.

Ive heard about it once or twice, but never heard any details from someone who’s actually done it.

I would think it would be quite the job if you were wanting to completely delete it. Then you’d have to take out the sales code for the air ride so that you won’t have a constant onslaught of warning lights and messages.

I don’t know if I coulda ordered my Limited with a full bench or not. Maybe it was possible before the cut-off date when you could still custom order the higher-ended 2018 trim levels last year but when I bought mine, it was late enough in the year that I had to settle for what was out there already and I don’t think none of the Limiteds I found had them. But it’s all fine with me anyways. Although there was times that ***** seat was nice for a third......much smaller person up front in my old 3rd Gen but I think I like my front buckets in my new truck, much better. I’ve only had one girlfriend so far that liked riding on the middle seat anyways....lol.

Besides, I’m not sure about the rear ventilation or not with the air vents, but I do know that in order to have the rear heated seats, that option isn’t available with the front bench. Prolly because you need the bigger center console to have a place for the switches, I guess.

I don’t have the truck I want because Ram won’t build it. I want a regular cab with the Longhorn package. I had to settle for an SLT.

Yeah not sure either? I know every Laramie and up trim I looked at (2500/3500) all had bucket seats and that just doesn't work for me with a family of 5. I needed that bench seat to be able to carry an extra passenger once in a while (happens often with kids bringing a friend along).

I sometimes think I want a 4x4 2500 but I can't justify it. I have a 14 1500 2WD Crew Cab Express and I like it. Its actually really sharp and gets a lot of compliments. All I have done is the air filter, flowmaster muffler, tint, and sound. It was actually a brand new 14 that I bought in Feb of 15 with ridiculous offers and incentives. Nobody believes I got a full-size brand new CC truck for $33,000.
I don't have a bigger or fancier truck because I can't stomach the cost even though I could 'afford' it.

I just built a 2500 2019 Laramie and the bench seat is actually standard. The buckets are a $545.00 up charge. $1200 0n a 1500.

I'm probably one of the older trucks in here. When I bought my 05 2500 CTD it wasn't exactly what I wanted (was lookin for short bed) but so glad I have the long bed now. The only thing I wish I had in mine now is modern radio. My truck is a Laramie w/ factory nav, but its 14 yr old nav now. Trying to save for a double din upgrade!

With our phones that have nav, in dash nav, that has to be updated every few years, is way overpriced and IMHO, obsolete.

I wanted a brand new, fully loaded Laramie.

But I already have another mortgage payment.

Still pretty damn happy with my '15 Big Horn...

Exactly. And CarPlay makes that even better. I can project Apple Maps, Google Maps, and Waze on my screen ave have pretty much the same effect as the factory NAV.

Yeah, this.

My camper is 3k lbs loaded, and there's just the two of us. Even with my rafting gear, my 1500 5.7/3.21 gears does just fine. I don't need a 2500.

Still, I look at 'em...
