Will 265/70R17 look too small?

2014 Bighorn 4x4 leveled. I'm running the factory 20 inch wheels but picked up a set of Rebel 17 inch wheels - always been a fan of the 17's. I was originally thinking of putting 285/70R17's on but am considering 265/70r17 for more clearance for chains. My concern is that they are going to look too small. What you think? Anyone have pix with a leveled truck? Thanks.

That was a stock option on the trucks.
It is only 1.5" shorter than your stock 20's but slightly narrower.
I don't think you will notice it too much as you will have more sidewall vs. the 20's

Have you run chains with the 20's? If so, the 285/70/17 is the same size as the stock 275/60/20's - well almost the 17's are a hair shorter with a 1/2" wider section and a slightly narrower tread vs. stock 20's.

I just swapped this size from my 3rd gen to my 4th Gen 2500

I am happy with the results. They are definitely smaller than the 275/70r18 that are stock...but with the more aggressive tread they look better.

Stock 265, 70, 17 with a 2.5 level. If you go into my build I have a picture with the clearance I had inside the wheel well and there is plenty of clearance fore and aft of the tire for clearance at the bumper and fender after I upgraded to 285 70s. Now, i would be a bit leery of chains clearing the upper control arm on a 285 wide and stock offset wheels. That might get tight.

You can always run a 255/80/17 which is a metric 33 as well as a 33x10.5 which I know kenda carries the new RT in. a935a498d293ebd397bd48ebfcec9885.jpg

This is my truck before and after I put a 1.5" leveling kit with the stock 265 70 R17 size. I've upgraded to 255 75 R17 since, not that it made much of a difference but the stock tires were due for replacementded915548a2f8b70b2b7f8095fac4748.jpg

Go with 285/70R17, that's what's on my Rebel wheeled SLT.

265/70/17 will look smaller for sure. You should be able to manage chains with the factory 285/70/17 on those wheels but you will need to space out the wheels. i've read Rebels have an issue with chains rubbing the rear brake lines, You can see why

What size spacers are needed for adequate chain clearance? Also do you need to get the front aligned when you put on and take off spacers?

That's a good question, from Rebel forum most seems to do the 1.5" ones but they also have a leveled front.
