Has anyone gotten a 37” spare to fit in the stock location?

If so, what all did you have to do? Remove the resonator, re-route exhaust, remove spare heat shield, air down next to nothing?

I'm pretty sure most people can only get a 35 to fit in the stock spare tire location. I know my 35" BFG fits with just a little extra wiggle room.

BFG's are 1/2" smaller than most tires. My 35 12.5R17 BFG's were a mere 34.5".

It took me just as long to pry out the 35” Duratrac and replace with 35” KM3, as it did to swap out the other 4...it’s TIGHT! (That’s what she said...?)

I had a 35 up there. Went to 37s and it’s in the bed. I was really concerned with the weight on that cable. But I don’t think it’ll fit even with everything removed. It’ll hit the hitch.

Yep, no way in hell a 37 will fit up there. Most 35’s need to be aired down a bit.

Thanks for the replies.

Now what to do. Go with the 37's and roll with a 35" spare or just run 35's - What to do, what to do

Or, you may want to consider a hitch mounted spare tire carrier which holds up to a 40in rim/tire as well as tools/water & fuel containers.
Check out Rigd Supply Ultra Swing Hitch Carrier Mega Fit... rigdsupply.com
It`s a little pricey but lets you still tow up to 10k (tows my pontoon boat/trailer just fine) and swings out so you can drop down the tailgate. Had mine for a few months now and still rock solid with no wobbling inside the hitch...

Almost forgot, I seem to recall 37`s mounted underneath having some clearance issues with the sway/track bar, maybe someone has more specific info on this!

37’s simply wont fit under there...most 35’s barely fit when aired down.

Hence why the PW has yet to come with 35's from the factory. It will be interesting to see if the gen5 HD frame will accommodate a something larger than a 35. (35 will be a given IMHO)

Don't want to hear that. Thinking I will go with 37's and a 35 for a spare. Would suck if it wouldn't fit underneath. Already bought 5 rims just waiting for them to arrive.

If you have a flat on the rear tire, take the extra time to put the spare on the front. It will pull some, but it is better then wearing out the rearend.
The track bar can be modified to make room.

That is my solution for now as well.
Waiting/searching for a used 35.

Can't wait to see those rims!

So after Trailmaker posted that pic I went well DUH why didn't I climb under there and check. So I did.
Was planning on running Falken Wilpeak A/T3W tires and looks like actual numbers work out like this -

37's = 36.5"
35's = 34.8"
315/70's = 34.6"
285/75's = 33.9"

I think the Duratracks are 285/70's so 32.7"

Now I'm thinking the 35 won't fit under there so just leave the spare as is and throw another 37 in the bed when not using the bed or there is room for it. Guess the wife gets her Grand Cherokee before anymore cross country trips, so, this summer.

For wheels I just went with the AEV Salta HD's

Ok I’m confused now. So it’s clear that 37’s won’t fit. But it was my understanding that a 35 would. I have Wildpeak AT3W’s in 35x12.5 going on tomorrow and was hoping to put the spare back under there.I think they measure 34.6 if I remember the specs. Crawled under there and it looks like a tight squeeze. I guess I’ll find out tomorrow.
