Im looking for off road tires that will fit on 22 inch rims with stock ride height in the front and 2 inch drop in the rear. Im looking for something that will involve no rubbing. The question is will these below fit?
Decided to go with Toyo open country AT 3 285/50/R22 that way I wont have to worry about rubbing or them sticking out too far past the fenders and they stand almost a inch higher than the Nittos I was looking at.
I have been doing some research and from what I see 285/55/22 (34.5 inch diameter tires) such as Ridge Graplers and Open Country AT 3's will fit no problem since the width is less than 12 inches even though I am running stock ride height with 2 inch drop in the rear. But all I have been reading is on 35's you may need to upgrade the differential gearing from a 3.2 to 3.9 . I dont want to upgrade my dif (currently running 3.2) and I also dont want the car to become too sluggish. I understand the tires are heavier but wondering if I can get away with 285 since its not a true 35 inch tire also E rate not F also not as heavy. So the question is should I stay with the idea all things considered of getting a 285/50/22 (33.6 inch tire) or 285/55/22 (34.5 inch tire)? 33's weigh around 56lbs 34's weigh 63lbs.
*Excuse my ignorance if I got anything wrong I learned all this yesterday by binge watching Nito and Toyo Ram 1500 tire YouTube vids.
