Going through a headache right now with my truck lol.

I recently swapped out engine getting ready to drive my truck but forgot that it’s having ignition issues. I found these websites where they program them for you and every one I go to it’s for rams that have the remote start. So I took out my WIN module to get the part number but it doesn’t match the part numbers that those sites have listed as compatible part numbers. When I plug it into the online oem parts store it comes up as a WIN module of another vehicle. Some other dodge/jeep car with V6s. So my question is, how do I get the oem part number for my truck? I plug my vin into the oem online store and it comes up as multiple WIN modules with different prices. I think most of those I see in the online store are for trucks with Remote start cause they have an antenna and have remote start in the description lol. Anybody know the part number for the WIN with no remote start for these trucks?

5026533AJ

And the websites I found specifically say that the car needs to have remote start. So did all 4th gen rams have remote start? My oem key doesn’t have remote start on it.

The most recent revision for your 2012 Ram 1500 (circled in blue) is 68105739AC

It replaces all of the earlier revisions of this part, including 5026533aj (circled in yellow, bottom).

So, basically this part#, or any of the parts under "Replaces", should work.








The remote start vs no remote start thing shouldn't be relevant, as remote start is a programming function in the TIPM (2009-2012) or BCM (2013+). But, it DOES show a different part# for the remote start version. 68105738AF is the one that shows up as fitting "remote start". It has it's own list of "Replaces" superseded part numbers:

I have one I pulled from a junkyard, part # 5026533AH, which is an older revision than yours. It would need to be reprogrammed for your truck, but, if you want it, you can have it.

This thread has info on how to program a new WIN, if you have AlphaOBD. If you use a used WIN, then you would also need to erase the VIN on the used WIN and sychronize it to get your VIN programmed to it.
