Hey guys and gals,

So I have a question about mounting my barn-find Warn M10000. I believe it is from the late 80s. Anyways, I already have a tube bumper that I built. It weight around 140 pounds I believe. Maybe more maybe less. I was wondering if I can use the section of the frame that runs perpendicular to the main frame rail. Will the section of the frame support the forces exerted by the winch? I have a 2013 ram 1500 sport 4wd. Thanks all for your advice!!

Hopefully that thread covers it (I didn't look).

Those "things" that drop down are where stock tow hooks would be connected. So yes, thats the spot to do it.

Yeah I read that thread. Lots of good information, but not sure it will work for my application. Do you think these hook mounts will be sufficient to hold with winch and bracket with just a high-strength bolt in the factory hole (one each side). I'll probably also weld the bracket onto the hook mount.

I think so. Use grade 8 bolts though.

Maybe you can find some pics of where the other attachment points are for the hooks, and fab it to connect there also. I honestly think that the front mounting points on the hooks are to simply "hold them in place" and don't really absorb any shock.

There is also a bushing inside the tow hooks, where they mount inside those drop brackets. (I think I remember that correctly..I'll look for a pic of my old ones).. may help to have those.. maybe not?

Bushings are in the front holes also. I stand corrected.

hey thanks for those pictures and the advice. The bumper that I fabricated uses the standard style "buckets" (as I call them) that you see on prerunner bumpers. I'll fabricated a little kicker coming off the buckets, going down to the the winch plate. That should give it more than enough support. Appreciate the info my friend, and I'll include some pics once I am all done.
