Hello all I want to run 12 power to the bed of my ram I want to put a inverter and small 12 compressor what gage wire should I use? And can I use the frame as a ground ?

that is a long run I probably would go 10g but I am no expert. I just know when I have to run a long ways I go heavier. I also always go ground directly from battery but only because I have not ever had an issue doing it that way.

How many amps will the inverter draw? And same question on compressor. Possibly 3 gauge might work but it really depends on draw and distance travelled. You would want to add together if you might use both at same time. It is important to not just meet specs but exceed to keep heat from impacting operation.
