Would this 5th gen shifter work on a 4th gen

the trx consol shifter is just a plastic stick with an electronic connector connected to the computer that controls shifting the 8speed .. just like the dia shifter on my 2018 4th gen.
Anyone think this wont work on a 4th gen??

It most likely need need some custom transmission programming if it will even talk to the truck/transmission.
You would probably be farther ahead to try using a stick shift out of a similar year Dodge/Jeep that uses the same transmission if you really have to have a stick to ****** while you drive.

Check with Charles at HellRaiser Transmissions,i think he put the console shifter out of a Jeep into a truck

Cool thanks for info ill check them out.. i just thought the trx being a truck and probably built on the same assembly line as the ram classic be more compatible with all the connections..

The TRX is built at SHAP which is about 9 miles from Warren Truck where the Classics are built.
It's the change of platforms from Gen4 to Gen5 that will probably be more of the hindrance. If you had a Gen5 truck it would probably be easier to accomplish.
