Just bought one of my kids a 2010 Rav4 with 150K miles. Cosmetically a bit beat up but mechanically super solid. Front brakes and an o2 sensor and he's off and rolling.
Ditto that, my 2010 rav 4 bullet proof. The wife drove it 15 years and replaced it with a cross. She wanted to trade it, I sad no way, when that cross dies this thing will still be running. My rave 4 2010 is now my daily. Cheaper then my RAM to drive, lol.

So stopped and looked in person today

Initial thought - if I make the move it will be to a 2500/3500.

Side by side - I just dont see the advantage of a 1500 here. Better towing/payload - diesel option and not that much more price wise.

3/4 or 1 gives me what the Toyota never would be able to - honestly towing with a 2021 Tundra likely means adding a trans cooler ($1500) as the hockey puck cooler isn't likely to cut it and transmissions aren't cheap.

Looked at the RHO - sitting side by side with a Rebel 2500 diesel - Rebel slightly cheaper actually...im thinking WHY would anyone buy the RHO ? I get sports trucks - but to me its just too gimmicky and not really something usable.

I mean honestly the Pro is Toyota idea of a sport truck - offload suspension and skid plates. I would rather build my own I think vs a ready made package - but as a package the Rebel is a decent deal. RHO feels like its trying to be a Ram Raptor - and not impressed. Guessing Rumblebee will be a hemi version of that more or less - so likely not for me.

Do like the seating on Ram so muxh better - Tundra is not comfortable on long drives and is wearing at the seems already. Ram feels like it will hold up much better.

I would strongly suggest that unless 90% of your miles are towing, stick to the 6.4 gas in the 2500. They tow just fine for occasional towing and are way easier to live with as a daily driver. I agree about them being comfortable; if I am driving 5 plus hours straight, I much prefer my 2500 Laramie to our Jeep Grande Cherokee Summit. Seating position is much more upright, good support and wide seats/shoulder room. I bought the 2500 because I wanted a long box. It doesn't ride as nice as the 1500, but it does everything else far better. For the ultimate in ride quality I have a Lexus LS460.

It is very likely you wont lose value on that tundra and you paid it off, for the same reason you wont buy a new tundra there is a pool of guys just like you that may appreciate that engine/trans package. Guys searching for that non turbo Toyota will put the last year of production in the search bar first, you have the last year of the best tundra that will ever be made. Many other reason for chosing the big 3 over the tundra, but the engine/trans with specifically longevity in mind ain't one of them. Come back in ten years maybe 20 and ask the same question again.

OP, be ready for a MUCH harder ride in an HD. The reason the capacity is so much greater is the stiffer suspension. Many people making this jump don't realize that until after the purchase.

If the offer is cash no obligation to buy anything I would do it in 5 seconds. If your numbers are true you're getting paid $15k to drive a truck for 4/5 years. You obviously don't need to drive much based on your mileage. The key to opportunities is to open the door when they knock. You're in a unicorn situation. If you actually get a check for that much I would be shocked.

So think I have my choice down to a 2500 Rebel - going to test a 1500 just to see how much different they drive to be sure though.

Big question is If I go 2500 - gas or diesel ? I get diesel historically has better resale - but is it worth the 10k up front?

Dealer also has a lower mileage 2022 2500 limited diesel - priced at just over 60k. Just also cautious buying used - more truck than I really want feature wise - but price wise it fits nicely. No doubt compared to the Tundra its more of everything.

You have been a member for 6 years. These questions have been covered hundreds of times in the past 24 months alone. The search function will turn up hundreds of threads.

We can't make up your mind for you, you have to look at the available info, how you will use the pickup and then decide for yourself. Let us know what you land on. Best of luck.

If you don’t absolutely love the Toyota, sell it-likely you’ll never do better. Shop carefully for your new ride though. The friends I have that have purchased new all seem to have troubles. Some major, others just nagging. I drive an ‘08 big horn Hemi, only major repair an a/c compressor at 14 years old. Regular service/fluid changes and that’s it. Bought it at 2 years old (Ordered and owned by the dealer finance manager) and I get offers even from the kid who installs wipers at Advanced Auto. I would never consider anything made today unless my truck became unrepairable and some dealer made me the offer of the century. My financial advisor told me never buy new 30 years ago, 2-5 year olds were the best return for your money. If you’re careful that can be good advice.

Don't buy used unless it is still under warranty. There was an issue with the newer Cunmins diesels, and it's expensive.High pressure fuel pump.My next door neighbour had that issue with his 2500.A very nice truck however. There may be a recall on that now,I do not know, but his went after his warranty expired, and he was in the thousands to get repaired.

Take the money on the truck and buy the 70 Chevelle. You can always buy a beater truck and enjoy your muscle car at the same time.
I regret selling my 70 El Camino back when I needed funds.

wise policy is any truck that has been trouble free, ride it til it dies, you bought it for a reason in the first place. Anything else is entering the unknown made buy manu's nobody trusts.

Make sure you go test drive some Rams, find out for yourself the difference in ride. If you don't pull or need it, don't get a diesel, $1.00 higher fuel price, winter headaches, higher repair costs down the line.
Back in the day, the old Cummins diesel in the Dodge pickups was noted for an easy 2-300K miles. Not so much of that today.
