WTB: Factory Black Honeycomb Grill Insert for 4th Gen

If anyone has swapped to a chrome grill insert and would like to sell their factory black honeycomb grill insert, I would very much like to buy it for my 2012 Ram 1500. I was thinking about Plast-dipping my chrome slats, but want the honeycomb design to match the lower insert.

I would also be willing to trade out my chrome slats for the honeycomb insert.

Good luck!....it took me about 6 months to finally find one that wasn't stupid expensive. Big improvement over the chrome slats.

Thanks for the luck and the idea! I might just have to do that. Hopefully someone on here will see this and be willing to swap or let theirs go. Hasn't been but a couple of hours since I posted this, so I'm not worrying yet.

I think you can buy the whole grille assembly with black honeycomb from Rock Auto for ~$100.

Unsnap the honeycomb, set "new" grille aside, install honeycomb in your grille.

Just an FYI - as I've seen people want stupid money for their black honeycomb inserts.

Thanks for the info! I had been looking around, but some of the cheaper ones looked like they were a solid, one-piece grill replacement. Couldn't tell from the pics, but it's looking like 09SMOKINHEMI will be hooking me up.

Oh, I just checked Amazon - they're $41.77 there, and free shipping if you're a prime member.

Beats the $200+ that most people want for used parts.

I just might order it too from Amazon - I'm tired of drying the chrome one!

Well, I gave in and bought the grill off of Amazon. Did some more research and it is an exact replica of the two piece front grill assembly (shell and insert). At the time there were 3 left, they wanted around $45 for it with free shipping. I checked last night and they had 2 left, but were asking $39 with free shipping so I went ahead and snagged it. I checked this morning and now that there is only one left, they want almost $80 for it. Many thanks for all of the information guys!
