I have a 2015 6.4 Hemi 2500 and the core was replaced under warranty in 2016. EVERY fall I check the heat ... and no heat. EVERY fall, I flush the heater core / radiator and I get some variable amount of heat to return. ...sometimes it makes it through the Winter, sometimes another flush is required.

It's now 2025 (10 years later) ... just flushed the heater core / radiator and still producing an ample amount of gunk with the flush.

After 235k miles, NO HEAT is still the only thing I don't like about my truck....

From Ram Forum ... it seems as if this issue is typical ...

Hey Dodge ... Why not fix the problem? ... and do it in such a way that everyone could win!

...and think about this...

Many Thanks

I discussed with my Indie Shop this summer (lots and lots of Rams around here). Their understand is the heater core/lines are too small for this truck application, which makes it prone to plugging if you don't flush and fill frequently enough.

Combine this with these dumb antifreeze companies claiming their recipe lasts 'forever'!!!! Just like transmission oil, it's not true in the least. What has IMPROVED is some longevity - there is no such thing as forever.

I drained mine @ 5 years, but still had heat restriction start of this year (3 years since drain). I also added the new additive the Forum is recommending to help keep the tiny lines from plugging --->

Here is a great video showing pretty much what I do.

.
Great video.... thanks for posting! Anyone looking, here's the air/water tool he was using:

At $20 probably not the highest quality but hopefully can get me through the project at least once.

Why not at least work on the source of the problem and use the air/water flush gun back into the block put plenty more sedimentary crud out the lower radiator hose. all that is just flowing through the coolant to clog up again.

Took 11+ years and two engines the first time..... I guess I'll plan to flush it again in 2037 :) :) I get what you're saying but it may not be worth the trouble if it's easy enough to flush and unclog periodically.
