I don't really like being called a liar much more than the next guy. I really have nothing to gain about claiming i get 18 mpg. If i wanted to jazz it up for you guys i'd claim i get 25. my work round trip is level grade, 50-55 mph, with no stop signs, about 25 mins.

truck has a tune, a full exhaust including headers, and an intake. if you drive like an adult, and don't have it lifted with big old monster tires which both kill mileage, it's completely realistic to figure i'm getting slightly better than the window sticker claimed.

and yes, i still have MDS activated. it was never an issue on my truck. i feel bad for the guys that claim they shut it off just because it pops off and on all the time. Again...probably a biproduct of lift and tires.

My MDS was horrible on my truck due to the speed limits in my area and the type of traffic patterns I deal with.. it would constantly kick on and off so I disabled it.

Not calling you a liar, just trying to get all the facts. Is it hand calced or EVIC readings that you're posting? Just curious. My truck reads about 15.1-15.4 mpg average, but I hand calc around 13.5-13.9 average.

we're all good. I didn't take offense to anything you said.

i do note in my initial post that my numbers are just from the electronic readout, and i imagine i'm getting slightly less if hand calculated. seems you're down a good 1.X mpg? that makes sense to me. If my 18 is actually 17 or 16.9 in my 5000 lb, QC, 4x4 truck, i'll sleep at night just fine. If i was getting 9 like the mega cab guys, i would have traded it for an eco diesel by now lol

hahaha nice. It's not rare for people to lose 1.5 to mpg from EVIC to actual numbers, hence our reservations. :D

"reservations" would be valid over someone claiming 4-5 more than possible. not 1.lol Then the "you don't get 18 unless it's off a cliff" would be valid.

If anyone has these trucks figured out by 1 mpg based on a algorithm of lift, vs, tires, vs cab configuration, vs mods, vs the color of the truck...they should be a lead engineer for chrysler, opposed to calling BS on a web forum over .9mpg ;) lol

all in fun, just messing around.

To the Op, sorry for going off topic there. My 2004 Rcsb 2wd base model hasn't seen more than 13.5 city an 18-18.5 highway in the 7 years I've owned it. Now it's worse than stock due to things but I'm also dropped on lil baby 30" tires. It's about 12ish for me in city so for a mega cab that seems about right. I have seen single digits before too lol.

When my truck was all stock (4x4 quad cab 5.7) I would commonly see 18-20 mpg on highway road trips. It is very doable and mds does help your mileage a bit.

I'm lucky to get 13.5 around town on my stock 06 RCSB with a superchips tuner (87oct tune and mds disabled) driving conservatively.... is that EVIC MPG blackbeauty? I want that mileage...

That was hand calculated on a full tank of gas going to the beach, the highway miles, and if I remember right the evic was within a mpg of the hand calculation. The around town was several times of hand calculating.

Thanks to all!! I guess I"m not going to see much better then what I am getting. I am waiting on my K&N to come in the mail and when I can I will pick up a tuner, I think I have seen that the Superchips 3845 is for my truck.
I guess this is what I get for trying to get a truck that fits the whole family comfortably! (5 of us plus the dog!!)

Now of course I notice that my rear pinion seal seems to be leaking!! Lucky me!! wonder what this is going to cost!!!!

It just blows my mind how much different mileage trucks can get... it seems most QCs get better than my RC. Just makes me wonder if I have something going on lol
